Thoughts on Passport Rewards?

It looks like there's a new shopping reward program called Passpor Rewards.

At a glace, it looks mainly like yet another online shopping portal/plug-in but what piqued my interest is that there is a selection of transfer partners including ACAeroplan points and QR avios.

Earn rates look alright tbh. Signed up using the Exec Traveller article, will wait and see if the bonus 500 passport points comes through.

The Aeroplan transfer rate looks good at 1:1 compared 1.5:1 for Qatar Avios/Cathy Asia Miles.

My major gripe is I can't find the earn T&Cs on each retailer page like you would normally see on other shopping portals.

Who are promoting it heavily! Articles written "in collaboration with ...", so up-front, but laid on a bit thick.

Yes, the first paragraph made me laugh:

Imagine if there was an easy way to earn frequent flyer points or miles with some of the world’s best airlines, which could then be redeemed for flights and upgrades.

Doesn't look great value to be honest compared to other shopping portals that earn cashback or points.

They are only promoting it due to owning it.

My experience is not great at all.
- Whenever you login, there is a pop-up box to offer 500 points for new starters if you get alerts if you download the browser extension and complete your profile. No matter how many times I have done this, it just goes nowhere.
- Following the previous point, I have been getting alerts and when I was on a site, the alert popped up saying if I would earn 0.5 points for every dollar. Made several transactions. No points.

I'll give it a few days, if still no points, I'll delete the extensions, cancel my profile and move on. An utter waste of time.

p.s To make matters worse, when you go back to a retailer site, the stupid popup comes up indicating earning 0.5 points for each dollar spend with a "hide for now" button which doesn't work. Problem is the popup is on top of the retailers search functionality making it difficult to actually use the retailer website.

Wondering if like qantas or virgin shopping, it takes several weeks or months for the point to post. Worth checking the t&cs

The issue with this program is that you don't get the traditional bonus points you would if you get a Velocity/QFF credit card. This makes it hard to eventually get enough points to get a meaningful reward flight. Without QFF or Velocity involved, you can't supplement your current balances.

They have this thing called a "points accelerator" though, which could help get a meaningful amount, but I'm a bit annoyed that they aren't transparent about the pricing. They've just said "fast-track your rewards at a competitive cost per point".

Keen to find out how much this rate is if anyone actually opts in, let us know?

I'm not willing to pay for a higher membership tier and then find out the cost per point is poor.
