We all know QF's int J product on the 744 and 380 is poor - specially the hardware. F&B? subjective really.. one person's bad meal options could be another one's "amazing" (and then again if you're used to F on various carriers well... )
I am not saying things like service(variable on ANY airline - though some are more consistent than others - eg SQ CX) or F&B are not important issues when discussing one airline over another, but I also feel they are based on subjective and experience affected. For example a packed full EK 380 in J is probably going to feel worse than just one or 2 in "Emerald City" at the front of the QF J cabin on the 380, or 5J on a 744 with a really good crew member. Near empty EK can be great... and some of EK's 380's are just as old as QF's if not a bit older (I think EK took delivery of their first few before QF, and SQ's are the oldest)....
I just find the whole notion, in many ways, to be so subjective.
IMHO

Perceptions about the standard and service are always going to be subjective, so the OP's view is as valid as anyone's.

I think this is all a bit unfair on Qantas.
The Qantas service has not changed, it has always been as it is now.
It is just that the competition has improved to a level Qantas cannot possibly achieve.
Yes, perhaps Qantas should improve a bit, but that is an unlikely outcome. Qantas are making money, so they must be meeting the expectations of the aussie flyers. Even if this product is absolutely ****e by comparison, if it is good enough for the ignorant masses, and you can flog it off at premium prices, then surely it is good enough period.
Is it? I actually like the business product on both aircraft. I have no issues with either version of Skybed. I have been on the A330 in business and it is not that much better, if at all, and I would rather a 744 and A380 than an A330 in any class any day.We all know QF's int J product on the 744 and 380 is poor - specially the hardware.

You see we all have different criteria for judging things (wing First in HKG anyone?) and just because the collective think the product is poor doesn't mean the rest of us have the same opinion.
Subjective? But entirely relevant to some people.
But this thread is also valid regardless of whether we think the points raised are valid or not. As you say somethings are important to some people and not important to other people. As always all opinions are valid since they're valid to the person with the opinion...![]()
