The Wing F Lounge Reopens 6th Feb

A friend (HKG based) passed through the Wing over the weekend and still rates QF SYD better than the new Wing

His words "CX just things so well and amazing I just thought it would be better even though it is great"

I think I would agree, the SYD F Lounge is still better.

Dropped by last Thursday night on the way to BKK for the weekend (celebrating a milestone birthday :))

Some thoughts:
-The entrance is very convenient to immigration, being only metres after passing airside
-Visually the decor is a step up on the J lounge, surfaces have more texture and the furniture more comfortable
-The food is outstanding, the buffet is extensive, includes a carvery as well as an al la carte menu (go the tenderloin, it's sensational).
-Overall the restaurant area feels a little big though but you can just take food back into the main lounge area.
-The bar in the lounge are is a little too small and didn't seem too impressive, the service is very proactive though

and finally...
-The Cabanas were amazing: expansive, luxurious they are brilliant - bigger than my living room! I will definitely be taking a good long soak before my next midnight horror to SYD.

Overall I'd say it lives up the hype and is equally as good as QF F SYD if not better with the The Cabanas :)

The food looks divine..
Pictures are nice.. Actually brilliant- :D Not stock photos??
It appears to lack an element of 'warmth" though I guess it would be the lesser number of guests evident in the lounge at that time.
I'll add it to my lounge aspirations list :D

Nope, I was surprised too - just got a new Canon IXUS 510HS and it takes a nice photo - have excluded some of the shakey/fuzzy ones :)

I was there last Sunday morning prior to a 08:00 flight to PVG.

I was travelling with a colleague from India who has lived in various parts of the world during his life, but hasn't done a great deal of flying over the last couple of years.

His comment as we walked through toward the dining area was "Why the cough* you taking me to a nightclub?".

He did enjoy the breakfast though... :)

Even the Wing First of last decade exuded a lack of warmth with it's rather stark matt grey stonework.

Thanks for posting, will look forward to visiting.

At The Wing now, really like the lounge.
Quiet and peaceful.
The Cabanas are absolutely superb. If I ever win the lotto I'm hiring the designer to re-vamp my poor little bathroom.
Showers, nice smelly things, a proper hairdryer and even a socket for my GHD's !!!
I only came back out into the lounge as the bar service didn't appear to extend to my Cabana :D
I took some more photos and will try to upload later.

The thing I found best was that the showers don't turn into a sauna afterwards. (The old ones were notorious for being a sweatbox)

For me the cabanas are the best F lounge (hard product) but the food still isn't as good as QF's F lounges.

I'll be in HKG next week as a WP for the first time. Looking forward to trying this out and the Arrivals Lounge as well.

Me too! Didn't know there was an arrivals lounge - will need to investigate that

Princess Fiona, we didn't need to know that much about what you do in your cabana.... :p :D

Maybe should've tried - they might've obliged, especially if you were thinking of drawing a bath. :D
