The view or two from my "office"

We’ve walked that one.

More fascinating from an engineering feat is the much older Brunel Thames tunnel slightly upriver and now part of the overground (but underground from Wapping).

We literally walked past it last week and I’m now kicking myself I didn’t duck down - apparently you can still see that it was the former walkway from the Platform.

On the other side of the river is the Brunel museum but wild horses couldn’t drag SYD+1 there. So we settled for Fish & Chips and a River Thames office view.

That would have been interesting but as always time comes into play.

I was lucky enough to walk over it the second day after it opened - when it was swaying wildly. Quite the experience! They should have left it like that. :)
We have caught up with members of the extended family of my wife today for a group walk and have ended up a the bridge again today. The local organiser told the story about its initial problems.

Civil Engineering 101!

They had 60 years post the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to understand the nuances of resonance and positive feedback. Think any basic rope suspension bridge you’ve ever crossed with more than a couple of peeps or a good wind blowing!

MAD office view earlier today. Just happened to look up and saw the Airbus Beluga flying overhead!

According to Flightradar24, it was doing a milk run TLS-Madrid-Chester-Hamburg today.
