Flavoursome seafood paella by +1 last night with a crusty layer of socarrat.

Just returning to my office after a presentation at Blackbird on the Brisbane River (Eagle Street):









Found it strange that I was served Quail and Chicken, would have thought I’d have got steak.

The entree was better than the main - apart from the roasted potatoes (they are normally salted more).

Dinner with friends at the Samford Hotel on Sunday night.





I had the whiting. The batter was too thick and drowned in the oil. Would have preferred pan seared.



My wife liked her salmon



Male friend had a steak. Medium rare was on point and all the veges make it look nice.



It’s fallen away (food quality) over the last couple of years. Service was okay - they even put on the heater above us as it was getting chilly for our wives.

Today was back at the Sofitel. Great service from Taylah, always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. What she does to fund her Zoology degree.

Yes enjoying it Lots of new staff. The only crew members who have recognised us are the Captain, CD and a Maitre’D.
Food still on a downward trend in Atlantide but better in Indochine. Of course the plan is to close Indochine.
The service in general is still very good..A problem today with the unions having a protest rally near the Cruise Terminal so timing of excursions are to changed. I have a 1230 excursion and it is now 1130 and no communication of any change. The shore concierge desk is closed.

Today though is our first fine day.
