The view or two from my "office"

It was just a zodiac cruise around the island to see the bird life, there was no landing.
Story is much as was reported. Some Zodiacs got stuck when the tide dropped more quickly than they expected. Additional zodiacs were sent out and some people were able to walk from their stranded zodiac to the new ones and return to the ship. Guests who couldn’t manage the walk had to wait for the tide to rise again to be able to get back to the ship.

Ah - that explains the apparent anomaly in the photos of pax walking across the reef using walking poles, when ostensibly they were only on a Zodiac cruise where poles would not be necessary. They must have ferried walking poles out to them.

We've already had @RooFlyer show us an example of an arrogant Ponant Captain doing what he wanted in violation of landing rules in the Kimberley.
And in Antarctica, the Ponant captain pushed the ship up onto the ice so that people could get off and have a glass of champagne. You could see where paint had stained the previously pristine ice. We did not partake and made a complaint in the feedback form but no doubt they (and others) still do it.
