I'm not concerned about your, or others, upside down pineapple interludes. Go for it! What happens on cruise, stays on cruise.

But I am concerned about foreign vessels in Australian waters riding rough-shod over protected areas.

We've already had @RooFlyer show us an example of an arrogant Ponant Captain doing what he wanted in violation of landing rules in the Kimberley.

Though we did the Broome to Darwin cruise on an Australian owned ship with an Irish Captain. He was memorable for running the tender aground and having to be pulled off by a zodiac.
He finally acheived notoriety in Irian Jaya and I believe the ship is still on the reef.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I believe they got off the reef and skedaddled before they could be prosecuted. Won't be back.

Did you land on the island?

It was just a zodiac cruise around the island to see the bird life, there was no landing.
Story is much as was reported. Some Zodiacs got stuck when the tide dropped more quickly than they expected. Additional zodiacs were sent out and some people were able to walk from their stranded zodiac to the new ones and return to the ship. Guests who couldn’t manage the walk had to wait for the tide to rise again to be able to get back to the ship.
