No different to how the old 5 pts per $1 was calculated. GST and all taxes included except the credit card/payment surcharge.

It's easy enough to work out. Take this Choice fare between Melbourne and Perth. It's $393.99 including GST. If you divide that by 12 and round up (as Virgin does) that comes to 33 SCs, which is exactly how much VA will give. So unless I'm missing something the SCs given are based on the GST-inclusive price.

Not easy as the SC earn isn't shown on bookings via the Business Flyer portal. I've made a booking, including a $50 off promo, but not flown yet so won't know till then how many SCs will be earnt. Could be 15 or 10 based on the $169 choice fare without or with the $50, assuming rounding up and there's no difference as to how SCs via the Business portal are calculated.

I'm going to squeak past 800 SCs on the smell of an oily flybuys SC if it's a 10 SC earn. Hit it out of the park with room to spare if it's 15 SC

Do we know if the $12 / SC is inclusive of GST or exclusive? Also, if you have made a change, paid a $99 change fee and fare difference, presume the change fee is excluded from SC allocation?

According to the website, SC are earned on the "all-inclusive fare^ paid" - Choice and above is 1 SC per $12
^Includes base fare, taxes (including GST) fees and carrier charges. Excludes seat selection purchase and other extras.

Hard to know if a change fee + fare diff is an extra. I would guess that it is if it changes the base fare and taxes etc amount.

The original fare + the fare difference counts. The change fee does not count.

The easiest way to work it out is simply that if it earns points, it earns SCs. If it doesn't earn points, it won't earn SCs either.

Funny how though, everyone seems a little unsure....anyway no doubt someone surely has done it. I've just flown PER-DRW booked before the change and received for the "new period" a rather lovely (I say that now) 30 SC!!

I have a couple of flights booked via Qatar that are on the wet lease Virgin that are appearing in my Virgin account - will these qualify as a sector?!

Otherwise, what's the quickest/easiest/cheapest way to rack up 4 sectors in a day ex Melb in Sept hahaha.

If it's booked on a VA flight number, I think it counts?

If not, then you might as well spend a day doing two CBR or ADL returns.

If I book a Premium Economy on SQ MEL-FRA - does the outbound 2 legs earn me 210 SCs? Not woried about return flights as they will be outside my review period but the 210 should see me requal....

Assuming it's a SQ booked ticket and flown after Oct 25 i think it's 80 between MEL and SIN and 95 between SIN and FRA giving a total for the two one way legs in premium economy as 175..a bit more perhaps if flown before 30 sept. . Happy to corrected.

Flying before 30 September 2025 210 points and after 1st October 2025 170 points

Booked CBR-MEL and MEL-CBR for the wife who pools to me.
Both were Choice fares (ie matters only that they're not Lite fares)
Costs were $169.00 and $279.99 respectively*.
SCs expected: 14 ($169/12 = 13.08) and 24 ($279.99/12 = 23.33)**
SCs received/pooled: 14 and 23

So NFI if VA are rounding to the nearest whole SC or otherwise.

* Total of all costs incl GST but excl credit card fee. But not including a VBF promo so amount that hit the credit card was $50 less.
** Booked through the VBF portal so no SC earn displayed.
