So one flight has caused chaos in DJ's system.

Perhaps it is best to have some buffering through the day so the schedules do not get too far behind at the end of the day.

That was my guess, there could be other problems, but yes, if that’s what happens after one flight it’s not good.

Then agin when I flew QF in October one flight caused my flight to be delayed by quite a while and I ended up changing to an earlier flights to get home on time.

Just heard on the news that there has been a methane gas explosion in a NZ coal mine,29 people, including apparently 2 Australians are trapped underground in the mine near Greymouth.
Just awful, lets hope they can get them out quickly.

Technically this broke yesterday. I recall they managed to get two out and to hospital but then hit a snag of some kind. Not sure what’s happened today.

IIRC there was a delay this morning from MEL that then got longer when the flight had to return because of a strange odour. That aircraft was then probably grounded for a while.

Chipping in late on this but sky news reported this yesterday morning as smoke in the cabin and emergency landing. Finally, a non qantas airline story.

And so it goes. It would appear that my laptop has had it. It was working yesterday morning and had gone into Sleep/Hibernation by the afternoon and I shut it down before going out to the airport. Tried using it today and nothing. Apparently the charger has had it but even with a new charger still does not function. Perhaps mother board?

Anyway time to find another laptop.

There may have been weather issues as well. Some JQ, DJ and QF flights going to/from the North were also delayed. Luckily my flight was on time and got into SYD at 22:30.

Well the regiment birthday was interesting. Some aspects reminded me of typical army. Organisation! Great seeing the people. Some sad news as well. Inspired to reconnect with my previous life.

Doing some local work this week and picked up a hire car from CBR AP. The bloke in front of me was desperate for a car but was refused because of the demand for hire cars this week.

The Hertz desk agent said they had 230 cars being collected tomorrow morning with 140 before 9.00am. A very good time to have a gold card etc to get through the queue quickly.

Good luck to those collecting a hire car tomorrow morning, be prepared for a long wait.

The journey home starts, no idea how good my seat is, currently in the T3 BA first lounge.

Signage in the UK is cough, my one rant of the trip.

Great to meet up with a few friends including Flashware.

Thought about sending a few PMs but I got delayed, catching up with work stuff, instead.

Well I have decided to take the wife to the US (mainly so I can try F) and scored 2 seats on the A380:)

Now looking at booking the return using FASA and  can not get two seats for a reasonable price, even for next Nov.

Looks like we may be slumming it in J for the return.:(

Have you thought about the JASA and upgrade online for cash trick for F flights?
