Well, one of my AUS key log ins has completely disappeared - yet I was working with it this morning. Has been a crazy day of monies flying in to Super, and so many people are paying their invoices today. Frenzy frenzy.<snip>

I had my business' AusKey disappear on me a week or so ago (also no myGov credential). Rang the AusKey tech mob and on checking my system, found that Java had 'disappeared' off my laptop. No idea how it disappeared - no changes to system by me and certainly no deletion of it in the previous week or so since I last used AusKey.

Anyway, Java re-installed and myGov re-appeared, but not AusKey credential. Sigh. Moved over the Chrome and there is was. I'm no fan of IE but dislike Chrome, but now there's another application that I'll have to use it with.

The legal system doesn't find anybody 'innocent'. You're either guilty, beyond reasonable doubt or not guilty . Lots of people are declared 'not guilty' because the state could not meet this burden. Doesn't mean they are innocent.

Maybe we need to adopt the unique Scottish verdict of 'not proven'?

Yes. That's true. But unless there is new evidence you cannot be brought to trial again if found not guilty.

Well there is the thing. I have two Aus keys (2 companies) and one was there and the other had disappeared. I don't like java much either. I was using Chrome, then Mozilla.

When I was young I read The Famous Five by Enid Blyton. Whilst browsing the book department at Big W today I saw some new versions that made me feel very old.

I don't know if they're a p*55 take or serious.

I heard on the radio this morning, "and Canberra is minus 6".

Part of me died at the idea.

No. These are indeed adult versions of the Famous Five books. A little bit naughty. I devoured Enid Blyton as a child.

Thats ok just head up to the big white building on the hill. A lot of hot air emanates from it so should be warm there

My niece, who recently moved to Albury for work, was posting "suffer suckers, now you'll know what Ive been putting up with" because apparently an artic vortex is heading Sydney way.

I told her that her parents were planning on burning all the belongings she left in her old room to keep warm :)

I believe the Tassies will get a bit of chill. But elsewhere it will be business as usual.
Just the weather bureau trying to sound relevant and get their message in with a media soundbite (or media outlets hyping things up as usual) - if you really want to know the weather look out the window
Im sure you meant Antarctic!.

We're going to Tassie in August - why, because Im an idiot! Im calling it 'Training for Scotland', testing the thermals, gortex ect.

If you do come, wearing thermals, Gore-Tex etc you may well look like an idiot ;) unless you are doing some bush walking?

I remember when I was in Scotland during March it was so warm I needed to buy more T-shirts - short sleeves were the order of the day! Even up north in Inverness on a different trip it was still light layers. You might be a bit overdressed if you are going during their warmer months :).

God, I hope so!

John, I know you have your opinion and I have Mine as others do as well.

But, Cardinal P has not exactly been the most compliant and forthright servant of the Cloth.

Has he.

Will he in the coming weeks suddenly come down with a case of Clive Palmer?
I don't know anything about the accusations against Cardinal Pell but it would appear that everyone in this thread feels he is guilty. What chance does he have in front of 12 jurors who feel the same?

If I've read things correctly the summons is to appear in the Magistrates Court. This means there is a chance he won't end up before a jury. I don't feel he is guilty. If it does come to a trial with a jury in a higher court I hope there are ways of finding an impartial jury.

I loved Enid Blyton books as a child and I'm impressed that my children are now reading them. I haven't read any of these new books about the Famous Five. I just don't think I could enjoy them. I haven't read any detailed descriptions of the stories but I get the impression they are some sort of satire or comedy. I'm curious but not prepared to pay money to read them. The description in the post is from a book called something like "Five go on a strategy planning away day".

I was more into the Secret Seven....

His first attendance will be a hearing and he will be asked to enter a plea. That's it for a while. The trial, if that occurs, is a long time off. My thoughts are that he will request being tried by a Judge, which in the consideration of all factors, would be a wise move. Then such thoughts if he is found guilty, cannot be legitimate.

It will be 41 in Dubai next Monday when we arrive. Thank goodness Ramadan has concluded and we can drink (even just water) when we need it.

Maybe because some of us have been reading about his connection to various situations where child abuse occurred. Oh and he created an org/fund to investigate and compensate victims of abuse (which is a polite word for rape for these children) but "Once victims went to police they were no longer eligible for compensation."

Im surprised by the charges against him but I always thought he was complicit in hiding the truth and protecting the church before the children & truth.

Oh and we just had another emergency evacuation. So thats 3 this week, 5 or 6 for the month of June.
