Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Happy to be told otherwise, but rail lounges, in general, aren't all that fantastic, compared to airline lounges.

Usually it's just a set and separate waiting area, and that's it really. In winter it's probably a bit better than freezing on the platform (but then there are other places to wait anyway, apart from the token pillbox also on each platform). The freebies like non-alcoholic drinks, a few biscuits and the like aren't really supposed to be a sub-in meal at all. Some should have free wifi, but then again some don't. At peak times, they get busy, just like airline lounges; other times, they are much quieter than the platform, at least. You do get a more comfortable chair than the platform bench to sit on, or a table to do work on rather than having the device on your lap (or on an unused part of the bench).

If you are on business and working, it might be worth your having access to such an area so you can keep on working. At least the First Class differential can be added to your expense report, or your tax return.

You know you're not doing yourselves any favours when it's less than a week out from the Easter long weekend, and you haven't even decided where you want to go.

Happy Doctor's day.
Yes I have just been told today is officially Doctor's day.Another waste of someone's time.

Well I got a couple of emails from local locum agencies wishing me a happy doctors day. They must have got it wrong and it is Happy Locums day today.

No response from Princess F nor UpintheAir from my TR so am reposting here:

Considering that my first day back from leave is Good Friday, that's one problem I don't have to worry about! :(

Someone in Woolies is not known for their addition/multiplication skills

But it gets worse.

In both Coles and WoW I have repeatedly found products where say the 2kg flour is more costly than buying 2 x 1kg packets. The longest I noticed this last was nearly a year (Coles).

Talk my kids (when first able to do simple maths in their heads) to convert sweet packet prices to a price per kilo. They really found the mispricings in the various chocolate products. Culminated once in buying individual serve chocolates rather than 220gm 'party pack' for lolly bags.

Unfortunately the shops will not consider the 'scanning price promise' when a larger volume product cost more than say 2 of the same product at 1/2 the size. So much for logic...

I sent them both a PM with a link to your TR and the appropriate post number, one can't help tardiness ;). Although PF has an excuse, she's probably at FL380

Nope, just about to start a LHR T3 lounge crawl.... not that the selection there is all that good.

I'll tell you what, been here for 7 hours now and visited BA, AA, CX, No1 Traveller and finally EK. It's turning out to be a long day !!!
And I have managed to avoid the Chanel shop after all

Yes, so much for logic. The scanning code only applies when an item doesn't scan at the marked price. Not if you think the marked price is wrong.
