Public health records are not always accurate. But I do agree this year could be the worst on record. It feels that way. Every week we have any number of people out with the flu in the office. Some more than once.

LOL. Life loves to tease.

I meant to say "facetious" but I could not spell it. Ironic really.:)

One of these days Translink is going to get things right.

Today is a local public holiday in Brisbane and i was charged peak hour fare where I should have been charged an off peak fare. The same thing happens on other public holidays.

Buses ran to Sunday timetable. The last 470 went past my place at 7:31pm instead of 7:39pm and i missed the bus by seconds. It went past in front of me. So caught the train instead. Asked at Roma St Station for the last train back to Ipswich/Springfield and was told 11:03pm. I said are you sure? He said yes. Rushed back to Roma St Station at 11:03pm only to see an 11:18pm, 11:33pm, 11:48pm and 12:03am also scheduled.

Why is it so difficult to have everything up to date?

My better half is a pharmacist and she has said it is easily the worst flu season she has seen since being a pharmacist (10 years) and studying (5 years)

Isn't the story that the Council didn't maintain their pumps correctly? When my kids were learning to swim there was no such thing as an aqua nappy. So I don't see that as the issue.

There is no way an accident like what happened can cause a pump to fail. So I would say you are right and it was poor maintenance.

Many, many years ago I was at a local pool centre and stood in poop while in the water.

Doesnt matter if a pump failed. Its not ok for kids to poop in a public pool. When the kids in our family learned to swim, they would wear teeny tiny speedo/knickers so at least it was contained if it was to happen.

Yes. Poor maintenance was mentioned in the article.

Of course it's not ok but Kids poop. That's what kids do. Not deliberately but as they say 'cough happens sometimes'. The article didn't say the kids were naked and which would not be allowed in a public pool anyway. If public pool pumps can't manage such issues which I suspect happens not infrequently, then there's a problem. So clearly other factors at play.

Tiny speedos's are not going to keep the bacteria contained haha.

I can laugh because my nephew did this once in an apartment block spa, thankfully we serviced the pools and spas and they had 2 other spas so it was a quickly solved problem.

Yeah. I'd say most toddlers have done things that we as parents would prefer to forget. ;)

Well, if the training is working you will know how to resuscitate yourself.

Oh. Just oh. I wonder if it's better than our Royal Adelaide Show. It must be.

It's held in strawberry season, and the strawberry sundaes are awesome! (Also a fundraiser for the Prince Charles hospital foundation).

May well be a problem with a poorly maintained pump but children who are not toilet trained shouldn't be in a pool in the first place unless they have an acqua nappy (assuming that they work - if not, keep them out of the pool altogether, like on board ships where they are not allowed in pools).
