VA have been manufacturing pesos hand over foot with recent promotions, but getting a long haul J seat on the 77W is nigh on impossible now.


QF is still hard for a J or F seat ex-MEL unless you are WP or above and can have one opened up. But QF availability is healthy ex-SYD and BNE.

But booking for December this year the only availability for 2 J awards on QF was out of MEL.So will get to experience the MEL Flounge.

When did you book this mystery fare?

Some days it feels like [-]Qantas[/-] Sydney Airways blocks availability from your home port to force you to connect.
 
Oh - I don;t mind a connecting segment ...

Me neither, I am rarely in a hurry.

But it can be a royal PITA sometimes (e.g. when travelling with luggage, and I include self-loading cargo in that bucket).
