Saved a $60 USD note within 24 hours of getting to Los Angeles by buying a gift card from raise.com
Yes 20% off so $300 e gift card for $240 and I printed it off within minutes.
JP Morgan is offering us up to $10 million USD at 3.011% APR but it isn't enough to buy Tom Cruise's second hand home seeing that one is a snap at $50 million USD ono.
That $60 saving will be ever so handy as a down payment.
If you have ever wondered if another real estate crash is possible in the US it is pretty obvious that the answer is YES.

Cheap easy money is back on in the US is why.
There are some amazingly priced homes on the market in Los Angeles and the rental prices are quite high too.

Waiting for bus at OOL airport. There are 2 buses already at bus stop. The bus I want stops 200 metres away and leaves early while I am still waiting.

Thanks creep. I still have a 2.5 hour journey to get to Milton and have to wait another 30 minutes for next bus. Just as well that wasn't the last bus.

It's the little things in life that matter and if they constantly go against you life gets depressing.

Maybe if you were concentrating on looking for the bus instead of tapping away on your AFF keyboard you wouldn't have missed it! :D

cove - How have you found raise.com?

I notice they sell Hyatt gift cards amongst other things.

With raise.com you can look but not buy when you are using an Australian computer address. Then you have to validate your first purchase with a phone call.
My first purchase this time came thru within a couple of minutes so the $300 voucher cost $240 and I got Kris miles on my US Amex. I am pretty sure all credit cards will work for you. I printed out the voucher straight away just like I do back in Australia for Rac/Woolies group.
I saw Hyatt and Fairmont on the site both of which are above average hotel chains.

Used that first raise gift card without any glitches so you can refer to me as Mr80% now. How I wish I had known about this site when they started a couple of years ago. Gift cards in the US don't seem to have an expiry date.

Well the air conditioning people are back after their tree hang out with drron. Why is it that they think it is ok to yell out to each other in professional offices? Answer their phone loudly? Use our conference room for other client's phone calls? At least we were able to keep them out of the bosses offices today.

If someone has 576,000 QFF points to burn, I just came across something very rare: 3 F seats on QF9 MEL-LHR are available as classic reward seats on 21 October.

View attachment 56512

I was looking at loadings for my flight to LHR next week and I couldn't believe the 3F seats are still there!! (and everyone complains there are no reward seats;)). If anyone grabs them I'll be in Y wishing I were in F...

That's not how it happened. The guy's a creep and thanks for reminding me. The bus driver going to Tweed Heads at the same time and then back at OOL 30 minutes later confirmed it.

I will be sending email to Translink. Hope he loses his job.

Is there any reason you couldn't just use a VPN or Proxy to masquerade as being in the US and order from Aus that way?

Not being a tech guru I think the answer Flashback is yes. The validating phone call may then be an issue as they may see you are calling from outside the US. I was told that they are not ready for international sales a few weeks ago.
Used another gift card tonight. I can see this working a treat with Hyatt, DSW,Flemings, Clarks,Ruth's Chris, Rubys, Johnny Rockets and many others. The offerings vary but mostly don't waste your time on Tiffany and save Bloomingdales 10% for when they are on sale.

Cove word on the street is that Singapore plane with nose down was loadng your stash of KRUG for your next couple of trips....;)

Good news Cruiser the package arrived today, and I have keys for my old place back, so things are looking up.

The office is still a mess and the phone system is not operating, so there are still things to be done.

Anyone want a fridge, I now seem to have 3 of them.

Plant the hairpins used to keep that plane's landing gear upright failed and the engineering list to fix it was long. New undies for the chief engineer, one new door, Dulux paint, blue tac, gaffer tape, poly filla, a heavy duty hairpin and a staple gun.
Lucky no one was hurt and the Krug was not too badly shaken.

This is how working class people behave. They do not know any better.

I'm from a working class background and my parents are very happily working class. None of us have ever behaved like this. Bad behavior is not something that's generally associated with social class AFAIK.
Sweeping generalizations are rarely accurate JohnK

No - in fact just discussing this with MasterP when I got home. Last month we had major work done at home by 2 young guys. They were very respectful, even taking care of our cat when they left, never used anything inside the house, quiet, and just did their job. Didn't want to take the slab of beer we gave them when they left. I think some people are just badly brought up. Our aircondy repair people are in their late fifties.
