Anyone know whether Optus 'disabling' the IMEI on my lost SS Galaxy III phone will work worldwide. Phone is probably in use Czech Rep.

Nope. Phone will be either sent to another country and used there (no global sharing of stolen handset data for Samsung phones), or stripped for repair parts. Before the Apple Fans crow about how Apple would block the iphone, yes it will be (I believe), however, again the phone gets stripped for parts and resold that way.

Talking about Optus. Touch ironic you see a lot of adverts from Optus about upgrading to an iPhone 6, yet there are people out there who have waited weeks without their upgraded phone and without an answer as to when it will arrive...

Not only restricted to Optus - VF are taking orders for 6 and advising 3 to 4 week delays - up to 6wks for 6+ - no idea about Telstra.

Cruiserette has ordered a 6+ from Apple - you go on a waitlist there also.

Optus were advising 10 business days apparently. I think they should be more upfront with those pesky ads as there is a lot of resentment in the comments to the ads.

Once again, I must be really lucky as there doesn't appear to be anyone so careless or conceited with respect to office supplies. I could leave a stapler, a pen, a pad of sticky notes, a box of tissues, my chair, my mug and what not on my desk and I know it will be back there. Sure, someone might have used a staple, a written with my pen, or taken a couple of tissues, or a couple of sticky notes....usually a note has been left to that effect, or at least it has been returned there.

That said, there seems to be a reinforcement of what I see is mainly an Australian or Western office behavioral theme, which is the person who is caste to appear as the idiot or outlier shall be subject to the harassment or contempt of the rest of the group. Whilst that person could be the bona fide idiot or jerk as it were who only a mother could love, it could also just be the tall poppy who really might not have done anything wrong, but otherwise goes against the grain of the rest of the group. Which presents an interesting ethical dilemma between maintaining one's morals/ethics/standards versus getting even.

I've resorted to using hot pink post-it notes; no one wants to pinch those apparently.

There is nothing wrong with using a stapler, pen, post it notes, sticky tape etc. When you take those things away is when the problems start.

It is also rude to take someone's chair and not return it. And just as rude to sit in someone's chair and adjust it to suit yourself.

It shows no respect for those around you. I don't want to work with these type of pigs. I don't trust them if I happen to forget important things lying around.

I'm currently working on a construction site, shooting day-to-day happenings for the client, and yes, the "borrowing" of items from colleagues desks is out of control!!!

Unlike JohnK though, the chairs (currently) remain unscathed, but the rest of the stuff seems to grow legs at a rapid rate of knots and walk away to hell knows where. And yes, it's getting up the nose of the Admin Mgr here - she's taken to tying all her staplers to her in-tray and hiding her Liquid Paper pen in the hope that when she actually needs to use it, it will be available.

I can't say I have heard Thais swear often, but in this case it happens at least 3x week. :D

Perhaps she needs to put a GPS tracker on them ... and have a camera in her office and put it on record when she has to leave...

Do or do not kidnap Yoda. There is no try.

Drunk with the alcohol, he was.
A north Queensland man caught kidnapping a 20kg statue of Yoda has been charged with theft.
Police said the Ayr man was under the influence of alcohol - and possibly the Dark Side of the Force - when he stole a pushbike and rode to the police barracks in Young Street where he spotted the diminutive Jedi master under the house.

I have seen the type of people that take chairs from desks and not return them.

They are the type of people that think having their phone on speaker all day is not disruptive to others in an open plan office.

My own chair - I wish! Often, I have around 30 seconds to change over with another driver. I have to sit in whatever chair I can get in the mealroom.

When I did office work altering another person's chair was an OH&S issue because the person it was allocated to would reasonably expect to safely sit in it.

What annoys the heck out of me at the moment in the meal room is people watching cough on their iPhones et al without headphones. They just don't get that it is very, very annoying.

What? You don't know the rules talk at school these days?

Look after yourself, ignore others and never, never say sorry or admit fault.

OR known as the 3-S's - Self-absorbed, self-centred, selfish - to go along with their 3 best friends....

A bit like people who can happily carry a bottle (water/beer/soft drink whatever) while they drink it walking down the road from the shops but as soon as its empty it becomes an unbearable load that must be tossed into someone's garden or dropped on the footpath.

As the advert say, "I feel better now..."

Fits in well with current self centred policy of "hard work rewards me alone" and screw everyone else; Why should I pay for the good of society. There is a lot of that going around.
