When it comes to health I would prefer good health rather than money but I am reminded by John Spalvins saying " I've been rich, I've been poor.....rich is better".
Of course John Spalvins was a share market player who lost quite a bit when money was really money.

But Spike Milligan always claimed money cant bring you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.

I must be very sad then
When I'm at work I carry a DECT phone AKA the BAT phone. Must be on me at all times, unless I'm lucky enough to get lunch and someone takes over.
Dear princes sad

is not the mark of an emergency worker ( nurse/ dr /firey etc) the ability to never eat drink or go to the loo during a (double) shift?

The retrievalists credo

"eat drink and wee when you can because you know not when next you will!"

Adsteam? I recall selling several thousands of those shares as part of my mother in law's estate, in 1989 from memory. Tanked soon after.

This!

Nothing beats 'holding on' for hr after hr, or inhaling your meal in 10 minutes.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

I'm doing the trip (weekly) the other way and have always found daylight saving buggers it all up. No worries outside of DLS

I am not sure if it is the new place or the commute.

But then again I was like this in Thailand a few weeks ago where I was wide awake at 7:00am no matter what time I slept and had to force myself to sleep a little longer.

Don't forget sleep. I was rung at 3am this morning to go in and cover someone who had gone off sick. Ugh.

I've been having major issues sleeping lately.. don't seem to be able to get to sleep before 3-4am. Pain in the bum. Would rather not take anything to assist so just have to tough it out! Exercise isn't helping either.

Look on the bright side. According to some research, the libido is highest during approximately 12 am - 2 am. So, make the most of it. ;)

Is flying that important.

Right! So now we are comparing flying to work.

If I was not well I would not be flying. I was recovering from chicken pox 3 years ago and postponed all my flights for ~6-7 weeks until I was right to go.

At the same time if I cannot fly then I cannot work either. Work is not that important. So after I recovered from Chicken pox enough to be able to travel I went to Thailand for ~10 days and then I was ready to start work again.

So is work that important?

But that's when FBI Files and Serial Killers are on Quest TV!

Well you've had a lot on your mind. :)

Maybe a weekend away will bring clarity. Two days for me hasn't helped much, but two more nights coming up. And haven't checked work email once! I'm very proud of myself (although strangely have had weird dreams about work).

Indeed. Then I get back and am off to ORK for a few days. Depending on how the "thing" yesterday went, it could free me up for some Eastern Europe tripping in Nov/Dec.

There you go, the umbrella got some use on the way home. Now to enjoy the sweet smell of the post storm air.
And I am slightly different.

I may take an umbrella with me in the morning if it is raining. Hardly ever if it is not raining.

I don't mind getting wet if I am going home as I do not have far to walk.

I tend to always carry an umbrella in London. Something about the fact that it can be brilliantly sunny when you leave .. and very wet 2 minutes later. Been caught too many times ;)

As is the ability to start a conversation, get interupted & continue the same conversation hours later.

Wow, what a turn of events. Talk about going from 1 extreme to the other. This week I started with close to nothing... I'm now ending it with just about everything. Landed a new job starting in the new year and also landed a contract to see me through from now till the end of the year.

Yesterday in Perth it was a roast. First really hot dry day where at lunchtime it was 38 degrees. It was one of those days where touching the steering wheel was a challenge.
It really helped dry out one of our warehouses where a fire pipe ruptured so the fire pump started and disgorged the fire tank contents to put out a non existent fire.
We were so glad that the flooding water stayed mostly below 150 mm so the water damage was limited.
