Went to a "30 year re-union" last night for AMP Brisbane staff (230 of us had booked the Bovine restaurant at Normanby Hotel). Saw some people I haven't seen since 1987.

A lot of laughs - some people haven't changed at all, others you needed to add hair (and/or change colour) or de-age them 25 years. They had a continuous loop of photos and videos going which elicited a lot of "oh, what was their name?".

10 hours of reminiscing, convivial atmosphere and pity that some couldn't make it. There's always next time

Great night

Marcia Wallace, whose four-decade television career included playing the receptionist on "The Bob Newhart Show" and Bart's fourth-grade teacher on "The Simpsons," has died, her agent said Saturday.

But it was her Emmy-winning role as Edna Krabappel, Bart Simpson's teacher with the snarky laugh, that may have earned her the most fame in recent years. It was a part she held since the show's premiere in 1990.

A greatly underrated character in The Simpsons.

Is it sad that over the last week I have clocked up 4,000 QFF from EDR Rewards?

3 BWS offers 900
1 BigW offer 1000
2 WW offer. 1500
1 20 CPL. 600

Amex prepaid cards (issued in the UK) are a faff to use. You need to swipe and sign. Would prefer a pin or no authentication required.

Traffic at SYD domestic was chaotic today.

I stopped car at Stamford and rushed to get to T2 and just made check-in before it closed.

Settling in for night 7 & what should be my final nightshift. It has been a long but satisfying week. I'm happy with my role & the role my colleagues played. I'm so glad that many of our newer members have stood up & played their part. There's a big difference between a scenario training session & the real thing but without the training, the real thing would not have been as good.

The only dream involved is the nightmare that goes with having to live in Sydney :!:

I have some much desirable memories of living & growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
I duly recall the population of greater Sydney was circa 2.5 million in those days.
It's always nice to visit Sydney, but to live there nowadays.. well sure have certain doubts.. It & myself has changed too much over time

Seems if you want to live near the centre of Sydney you need a 1 million dollars and your parents help to purchase a home!

Living in Brisbane is a nightmare. Sydney is a cinch.

I have not seen any place anywhere in the world that even comes to close to Sydney.

Personally I wish you people that hate Sydney with a passion would be more vocal about it and see if you can recruit some of the pretenders living in Sydney to move out.

Wow I didn't realise the actress playin her was that old. I wonder if they will replace her character?

From what I read a Major character will die this season.

Sydney, it appears has a certain amount of pretentious amongst its dwellers of nowadays. Sadly so.
It always, seems to be to the ritual question.. After being looked at up & down ... :D
So where do you live in Sydney & what School/University did you go to?
Dapto.. was often the requited reply..
I feel sorry for some.. & their evident inferior values.

I love those type of questions in conversation.

I went to Belmore Boys High School. At one point in the 70's it was in the bottom 10 schools in the state.

People can judge all they like but personally I think I have done well coming out of that swamp.
