The thing you hate most about traveling

Hate coughpy hotel gyms.

Now I just charge single entry to normal gyms to my employers :)

My pet hate, is why Teleporters (Star Trek) have not yet been invented yet so I never have to fly on another bloody plane!

Because they'd interfere with SmartGate? And how would you get status?

You haven't worked out how the teleport system works? I'd tell you but if you don't know then you don't have the status. And Stargate is like CL, with many unadvertised benefits, invited membership only.

One of my pet hates is pax who stand up before the seat belt sign is out, and I'm stuffed if I know why because they can't get off the plane any faster.
At 6'2"-ish, I can't wait to stand up and stretch. Am quite happy to stand and not move. After extended periods of being crammed into a whY seat, a few minutes stretching is great:)

(and note I *always* wait for the sign to go off; fiik why people ignore it!).

There really isn't much about travelling that I don't like though time away from my wife and little guy when I'm away for work does bum me out.

Overnight transits where you think staying at the airport and saving money on a hotel room is a good idea.

Overnight transits where you think staying at the airport and saving money on a hotel room is a good idea.

I suppose you have to do it at least once to realise what a dumb idea it was :)

You'd think there'd be a market for cheap backpackers near airports.

I love travel. Apart from the people who do not stand behind the line at the luggage carousel. They should be tasered!

what line?

The line that keeps the area right next to the carousel clear, so that you can see your luggage before it passes you and so you can get to it without having to rugby tackle people out of the way.

Things I really dislike:

1. TSA
2. All other Intl Security

... when staffed by people more interested in their own fleeting sense of self-importance more than actually conducting effective security screenings

Great idea! Perhaps they could be tasered just before they make contact with their bag, meaning they'd go down and the bag would continue to go around!

Hates:
1. Being away from wife and 3 kids
2. People who care for themselves only (include anything in here. Common decency and respect are so sorely missing these days)
3. Being sick while away.

But overall I love travelling, even for work, (I really feel that it's a privilege) and I have to admit my guilty pleasure is a full night's rest with no kids to feed or referee in the morning. Oh, and eating whatever I like without the food naz_ telling me off ;-)

......digital juice dispensers, the cheap sushi- are warm reminders that I'm home

Knowing that I'll have to go through immigration when arriving back in SYD. Seriously, they are the most rude, obnoxious, miserable, self important .....you get the picture....

The joys of SmartGate, never dealing with immigration staff.
