The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Flight aware only lists two weeks. The flight is only on sunday.

I flew it about 4 weeks ago and it was an a332.

So looks pretty consistent.
QF488 was a Friday night 737 special and, after sitting out April, returned on May 4 as a weekly Sunday A330 flight. Since then, it's been scheduled six times, and cancelled twice (18 May and 1 June).

Hi - I'm a newbie and I have a question if anyone can help please?

I am 5 Status Credits short of retaining my Gold Status with Qantas which I must get prior to 30th June 2025.

Is there any way I can get these SC's without taking a flight between now and 30th June?

Any help will be much apprecitated?

Cheers,

Without taking a flight, not as far as I know -- however on past experience, it is very likely that Qantas will "comp" you another year of Gold in this situation, as long as the same thing didn't happen last year.

Can someone help please. Cant find the detail in the QF forums : Booking Class on Emirates for Buinsess & First- Qantas Classic Awards - TIA

I believe it’s S for economy, O for business and Z for first. Premium is not available for points.

QF rewards book onto the EK codes.

Thanks - exactly what I was looking for - I can now search for O class availability using Expert Flyer

Seats.aero had the codes I listed above. And since they are showing reward seats I tend to believe them.

I put it to the test.

I logged into QF and searched for Business Rewards MEL-DXB. I found plenty for two pax in February 2026. I randomly close in on 22 Feb.

I then go to EF and do a Flight Availability search for that date, setting EK as the airline, and it shows O7 across the board. Hmmm... first red signal: that seems like an unusually generous and consistent allocation of reward seats in Business.

But OK, so far so good.

I then changed my search to four reward seats. Nothing on 22 Feb (but some on other dates around then). And no fare bucket showed availability of only two. Nothing computes.

Search for two seats:

What EF displays:

Changed search to four seats:

I conclude from this that EF is not useful for QF Reward flight searches on EK and that only a direct search on QF is likely to work.

Hello! I've booked a Qantas business class ticket from Melbourne to Broome. The first leg to Perth is on an A330 in business class, followed by a 3-hour layover in Perth before continuing to Broome on a QantasLink A319, which only has economy seating.

Am I eligible to access the Qantas Business Lounge in Perth during the layover? I also have a Qantas Club membership.

Thanks!
