As a QC member can I take my husband in as my guest and 2 grandchildren (16 and 13) without passes? Perth Domestic lounge

Hello, just wondering if there’s a way to add a FF number from a different FF program to a reward flight I’ve booked with Qantas? Don’t have Qantas status but I do have status with a partner which would give me benefits on an economy booking. Thanks

As long as the FF number is from an airline in One World, it should be possible.

If you can't manually change via rj.com or finnair.com MNB, you may just have to call QF and get them to do this for you. Shouldn't be a problem for the,

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone else has experience this.

I booked flights and paid for them (money taken out of account already) but paid through payID and the payment doesn't seem to have been associated with my booking so I don't have any flights. I am now out of pocket with no flights, and have called customer service twice already, to be told to dispute it with my bank.
I have screenshots of the payment being successful and received by Qantas as well as my bank saying it's been processed.
Any ideas on what to do next? Flights are supposed to be in a month's time...17th November.
Thank you!

Is this a matter of the payment needing to be cleared by the bank? It used to take 4 to 5 days. Even if it is showing in various statements it may not be accessible.

A very much a non-newbie question but I'm trying to get my head around the WP benefits compared to SG benefits. I see that arrival lounge is a thing in QF domestic lounges. How about international arrivals? E.g. popping into a shower at your destination before emerging from the airport to the public?

Other new benefits are 1) the request for reward seat release (an unpublished benefit?), 2) shadow seat (another unpublished, perhaps inconsistent but often), and 3) priority security overseas (where available). All the other benefits are more or higher grade of the SG benefits (more baggage, better lounges, earlier boarding group, the random access to a competent customer service agent, etc).

AFAIK no international arrivals lounges for QF flights; some partners may have arrivals lounges at some locations but likely to be based on class of travel.

QF Lounge access 'on arrival' is only available to WP/WP1 members at the Australian domestic airport lounges (QC & J), following any Qantas flight on the same day. In theory you could transfer from INT to DOM to take advantage of this, but generally not worth the hassle, I'd expect. Elsewhere it is only available with class of service on certain carriers and into certain ports. Not available by way of WP status.

For requesting an award seat to be released, which is not a published benefit, as you noted - see the wiki article here: Preferential Access to Qantas Classic Reward Seats (wiki content) - Australian Frequent Flyer

The WP shadow still happens fairly frequently, at least on lighter loaded flights, but is also not a published or guaranteed benefit. It's just something that can work out for you more often than it might for other QFF members and travellers.

Fast track & priority lanes are available via OW Emerald status and apply to many o/s ports, but not all have this, or they might not have it for all steps in the process; For example you'll generally have it at check in, but maybe not at immigration or security. Many ports with security at the gate don't have a separate priority lane for status pax. Again, it depends on the port.

Cheers,
Matt.

All of the above. I like the Qantas first lounges (better than the Qantas int J lounge) and access to EK first lounges in Dubai, the ability to chose any available seat and near the front, even on EK, (its further back for SG) for free, and generous baggage allowance. Empty seat beside sometimes.

International lounge access - be it QF or OW partners isn't usually a thing - specially when arriving on international flights because one usually proceeds through entry formalities at the destination and have no direct access to a lounge due to the path allowed. Yes, somewhere like SIN is an exception in that one world, but the QF arrivals policy is domestic only and you can understand why in a way. However again, most ports don't allow airside access to departures areas anyway post international arrival so it's logistically not really possible in most places imo.

Again as above, it would be possible though to, for example, arrive at say MEL or SYD on international and pop over to the domestic lounge(s) to use. At MEL this would be relatively trivial (assuming HLO or a place to store checked bags), in SYD would be more trouble than it's worth imo (same with BNE). PER could be done by walking up to T4 without too muc trouble, but again would it be worth it? perhaps for a shower and coffee I could see that.

Anyway the shadows and seat request perks are not published (as above) but usually a thing to varying degrees.

Anyway F lounge access for QF, OW and EK is a huge plus over SG, plus domestic J lounges can be a nice option there too (specially in places like MEL and PER imo).

OWE (emerald) gives extras on partners - again better lounge access, extra free bags on AS and AA, priority and seat selection to preferred seats (I know AA dropped free MCE, but still other paid "preferred" seats open up). I also think there's far more leeway and help provided for emerald's when things go south. Oh, and there are little bonuses like Flagship First entry at LAX (and I think in a couple of other locations?) of a dedicated check in experience that can include an escort to the front of the security line (which has been a huge time sAAver!).

and of course on QF, treatment during IIOPS will be better than Gold (and lower).

Now is it worth chasing for all of these (and probably others i've not thought of) things? That's a very subjective call up to individuals based on their own situations - in some cases it will be, and in others it may be a bridge too far, or not make sense with projected travel needs.

I forgot to mention access to Dom J lounge access. Thanks for the reminder, pizza at PER, spice bar at MEL, Mexican, as was, at BNE. What's in SYD?

Because I was getting to the upper half of SG anyway, decided to chase it so I can try it out for size. Scored it last night, now enjoying it for the next 19 months (unless I get sucked in). Four trips and seven ports by Christmas to get the first feels.

Won't we all cheer (those of us still around) when SYD don J gets redone (but bemoan the pain while it happens....)

I'll say hi to the nothing tomorrow as I'm passing through. Can't wait for another whiff of "brown slop de jour" :D
