Yes. The dark arts of yield management.Does QF add lower booking class seats at a later date?
I could've sworn i watched sale seats disappear a week ago on a specific route/date and for it to pop back today as sale.

Thank you.There’s probably only one seat available and if you want to get two it prices as a classic rewards plus.
Thank you, is there a way of seeing if there are actually 2 seats available. I would hate to book one and then go into my wife’s Qantas account and find there is no availability left ( or would IThere's likely only 1 CR ticket left. All passengers in a booking need to be on the same ticket type, so it makes you buy 2x of the more expensive classic plus.
You could make two seperate bookings to get the lowest possible total price.
If it returns a result when searching for two, then there is at least two seats left at the displayed price. If it returns a lower price when searching for one, then there is additionally one seat at the lower price.Thank you, is there a way of seeing if there are actually 2 seats available. Seriously is there a way of finding out how many seats are left? Cheers.

But.... beware. The availability is dynamic. Just because there are 2 at the higher price, or 1 at the lower price does not mean that if you book the one at the lower price, that there will necessarily be one left at the higher price. The yield management algorithms may be happy to sell 2 at the higher price, or one at the lower price, but once the lower one is sold, then want more for the next seat to make up for that.Thank you very much

Not quite., It is not additionally at all. They are willing to sell one at the lower price. They are willing to sell two at the higher price WHILST that one is available at the lower price. If it goes, there may be none left at the higher price.If it returns a result when searching for two, then there is at least two seats left at the displayed price. All I'll say is if you believe the kids tix better value to purchase with cash, then;Hi, I’m looking to book a family of 4 trip to Fiji. I am trying to work out the best value for using points on classic rewards flights, or paying in full. The classic reward seats are good value for adults, but not so much for kids when the international taxes are so heavily reduced for them. Is there a way to book 2 adult classic rewards using points but paying for the 2 child tickets? Thanks.

@Cutty What you'll need to watch out for is depending on the age(s) of the kids (especially under 12), it may not be possible to have them in a standalone booking. This is particularly problematic with international ticketing, and that you would be on seperate tickets to them, so they are in effect considered to be travelling alone. You may need to contact the call center to talk through options, as I dont think you will be able to book this online.All I'll say is if you believe the kids tix better value to purchase with cash, then;
Book 2 reward seats, 2 adults. Then book 2 revenue for 2 children. Then just sit where you want within those 4 seats. Call to link the bookings if your can, hopefully seats close together.
That may even out the points to taxes scenario.
I recently booked 2Ad 2Ch reward seats return to Fiji.
6 of 8 in J cabin in next July school hols, very lucky.
You will be able to check in online through the app, but being international it is likely that someone will need to sight your documents in person, as well. Check-in shouldnt really be closing 90 mins out; possibly 60 mins is the target for closure. They'll still be processing after that, most likely. Folks with experience at CGK can confirm what to expect for that particular port. Are you travelling with hand-luggage only, or have bags to check?I'm flying from Jakarta to Sydney on QF42 in a couple of weeks time. Does anyone know if I can check-in online on the QF website or app? Reason being that I will be running a bit short of time and may not make it to the airport before check-in closes 90 minutes ahead of the flight departure. The QF website says I can check-in online, but not sure I can trust that! Thank you!
Thanks, I’m only looking at economy class as I don’t have the points to cover 4 in business.All I'll say is if you believe the kids tix better value to purchase with cash, then;

Thanks Matt! We have hand luggage only. Would be good to hear about other experiences at CGK, as Qantas website says check-in closes 90 minutes out.
