If you have had your au for at least three month use GT to obtain US Amex .

Just wanna give DP, I got preapprove for csp in chase app, immediately transfer so total in my account was like over 10K, apply thru the app, no question ask, no itin or ssn ask just submit the application. Got pending message. Wait for 2 days then call immediately got approved from reconsider line. Been with chase more than 3 years.

Any tip do I just use the card like normal ? Or need to charge something in US first ?

Generally can use as normal, but if you start doing large overseas transactions, don't be surprised if it silently declines and you need to call in to lift fraud block. Generally you have better luck using the physical card rather than a digital wallet on a new card ime.

I found with mine, I tried to use ApplePay at Officeworks ($2K). Chase immediately declined that charge and froze my profile. Luckily the banker at the branch remembered me and got my profile unlocked as they wanted me to go into a branch. From my experience,, go slow, make some positioning spend in AU with your physical card in AU (like coffees, lunch., public transport, etc) show some everyday spend. it's a very pedestrian start but will save you some heartache in the future. YMMV,

That right, went to the branch with just my passport

Got denied by Chase after getting approved a month ago. Thought it was because of too many accounts in a short time or too many accounts opened. I have 7 cards with them and another 12-13 US cards, but it was an identity issue and they said no recon as it was final.

First time in many years Chase asked me to upload ID, ITIN and proof of address. After checking the docs, they still think someone stole my identity lol

Good thing is my T-Mobile $3/month number can now get Chase SMS while on the call. It didn’t work in the past.

I got denied recently by Chase as apparently they’d granted me another card too soon ago (in Feb 2026). I asked what was too soon. No one would tell me in case I was to game the system. One agent told me they considered 2 years ‘new’. YMMV.

Same . I had 2 cards approved in jan 26 . Then had them closed and reopened . Now I have had too many enquiries .

I’m trying to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business as it’s a charge card. Will be good to have a Visa charge card esp in AU where merchants often get out the crucifix when you ask about Amex card acceptance..

Do not rush as this is a long game to play. It's not like in Australia where you can sign up and close credit cards easily with not so much consequences providing good reason(s).
