Hi,

I had a comp pass that is expired. I went onto ebay and saw a number of people selling comp Invitations. It seems the current card is grey in colour? Is this correct?

Are these fakes usually? How much would someone spend to buy one?

One of the reasons Qantas cracked down a little bit on trade in these things is because fakes were being sold. Now they have a hologram on them, which certainly doesn't stop them being forged, but raises the bar. You'd have to sell more than a handful just to recoup the expense.

Nobody is selling QC passes in any quantity nor as part of a regular business stream, so I conclude that the odd pass is being sold by the odd person who sees the cash value (less eBay fees) as being worth more than the value of a lounge visit.

Prices range from $40 - $75, according to recently completed sales.

I received one recently when I went from Bronze to Silver, and I gave it away to a frequent flyer who doesn't fly frequently enough to have access. I am sure that when next I see her, I will receive a lovely smile as full payment.
