The Pinot Noir & Grenache Thread

Wine competitions are money making operations and are rigged. They probably won because they colluded with the organisers.

What facts/evidence are you basing that one?

From my experience with the Perth wine show, that would be quite complex to achieve such collusion and rigging.

Given that SIPNOT this year will be on Monday 11th September at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney and generally sells out when usually in Melbourne, if you would like to reserve tickets ahead of the official announcement late next week, then email Nicole Griggs via Nicole DOT Griggs AT stonier DOT com DOT au :)

I have tickets for the Sydney Pinot Poolaza this year, hoping to bump into a few forum members at the event!

Does anyone have a promo code for vip passes? Unfortunately [post=1519641]last year's[/post] only applies to general admission tickets this time :(

Thanks, appreciate that, though I'm less keen now (at that price) considering I had/have Cellar One credit and since purchased other pinots such as the [post=1659279]Kupe[/post] :)

Hi Everyone,

Pinot Palooza is coming up this year, and while old followers of these / wine trade people like me might be turned off by the crowds and poor manors shown at the tasting tables it's still worth going.

Curious if anyone knows any coupon codes for a discount on the tickets?

Pinot palooza in Melbourne today. A lot of big names there. Should be a good one!
How did you get on?

I went to the Sydney event yesterday which was excellent. So much top shelf Pinot available. The Mornington Peninsula stuff was the standout for me Yabby Lake, Moorooduc and Paringa all excellent. Valli from Central Otago was very good as expected. Nice Plumm glasses to take home. We were a wee bit merry afterwards

Anybody - particularly our Tassie friends - tasted the 2016 Bay of Fires, which is apparently not in store yet but available on Cellar One for $30.83? Just wondering if I should make up for missing the 2015 (the chardonnay and pinot gris are also in stock but no longer the riesling nor sauvignon blanc)....

Besides the pinot deals mention in my posts in the Dan's thread, Yes Said The Seal 2016 has recently won the inaugural Australian Pinot Noir Challenge - as it's $37 at Randall's with a one bottle limit, price-match at Cloudwine for more :)

Sorry for replying too late now, but in case you didn't realise after posting, my comment immediately above yours had a code - how did you enjoy it?
