The Overland within Victoria

I was today years old when I learnt that you can travel on the Overland wholly within Victoria for the Victoria fare cap, but you must book via the Vline website.

So for comparison, Nhill to Melbourne booked through Journey Beyond (train operator) website is $145. Booked through Vline is $5.70.

A nice day out for a train nerd, Melbourne to either Ararat, Stawell or Horsham, lunch then return to Melbourne on the Overland!

Discovered this a few years ago. It's a whole carriage (I think) and was a condition of the Victorian government's ongoing funding contribution.
