As per this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ogram/have-you-ever-made-complaint-46188.html

Interested to see if people have done anything about the constant failure of Qantas to police Priority boarding and provide an advertised feature of their service to Plat/J customers.

I personally have done nothing about it other than the odd whinge in the ongoing thread here, next time, and in the future I intend to start making complaints, I feel it is the only thing that might actually get them to do something about it.

I have added some further options - this is a new poll. Expires after 14th January and you may vote for more than one item. This is a public poll - people can see how you voted.

Thanks Serfty, more balanced now!

OK........I have complained to QF about PB on more than one occasion, had one unsatisfactory response, not received a response at all, and am not sure about two other responses, and I also am at the gate when PB starts (and typically fails). Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be an option............................:p

edit: Very cunning serfty - I can choose more than one!! :)

Also voted - I have complained multiple times - sure I get a response but I am not sure the response is adequate or if anything has actually been done.

Same for me to the extent that I no longer bother to complain and on the domestic connections to SYD for international flights I simply turn up at the gate early in the knowledge that PB may or may not work. I finally got around to working out how many domestic QF flights I took last year and it totted up to 24, 15 for Int connections and 9 willingly . (I was surprised it was so high, I only took 21 DJ domestic flights.)[The other scary thing is the need to travel to SYD, from MEL, for international connections if I want to fly QFi]

Thanks a lot, much less biased now!

Voted.

Can we now get back to important things (or perhaps transfer this thread to the playground)

Maybe there needs to be options for making a verbal complaint at the gate vs making a follow up written complaint after the flight.

I've never done the latter but on a couple of occasions I have complained when having my boarding pass scanned, the response has always been quite childish and defensive... "What do you want me to do about it" springs to mind as one response received

Exactly what I started doing a few years back. Even if the PB doesn't work you can still generally find some OHBS above/near your allocated seat.
Not saying that people should not care about PB failing - they should as it's a published benefit. However in my experience more often than not it doesn't work so the above example is my solution to the problem.

I've made two complaints in person at the gate and both were essentially ignored with "That's the situation, I can't do anything about it" type responses. Very disappointing. If I thought a written complaint would elicit any response at all, let alone a boiler plate one, I might have written one.

A complaint is a complaint regardless of means of complaint. Without extra options the complaint you describe would fit under Yes and the answer was rubbish.

I'm not really a complainer (well, maybe a whinge or two hereon AFF ;)), but have decided if/when PB is an epic failure next time, I'm going to force myself to do so. It may not change things, but they're most likely not going to change anyway if nothing is said.

Maybe the QF Facebook page is the place to complain, looks like it is monitored.

If I have a complaint that I want to make to QF that would certainly be an option, depending on the nature of the complaint, and my willingness to open up the complaint to responses from a bunch of people who, judging from some past threads on that page, really should not be allowed anywhere near a keyboard! :)

I get the feeling that gate staff have probably had enough of dealing with those who suffer from the affliction known as " entitlement Syndrome " it really doesn't matter what you say. It had been my observation ghat certain people believe rules are not for them, and as such Bully their way through life. Unfortunately they get away with it. Queue jumpers, and their ilk have it Sussed push in glare if anyone says anything and then cry persecution if pressed. A sad but real state of affairs.
So lodging a complaint after the event is a little meaningless ....unfortunately.

Maybe record a video of it happening, put it on youtube and let viral marketing run its course so QF will listen.
No doubt such an event would attract tall poppy syndrome-type responses.
