So I've taken a plunge, burned all my KF points booking SIN-AKL in suites late January when the A380 goes back into this route.Ok point taken, can't rely on sq waitlists
I'm thinking of doing a similar thing (but on the shorter SIN-SYD route, and my points will be converted from Velocity). I'll need to make a decision by this weekend (and hope that the date I'm looking at is still available). So I've taken a plunge, burned all my KF points booking SIN-AKL in suites late January when the A380 goes back into this route.
Departing at 2235 and a near 10 hour flight ought to allow for plenty of lounge time, and a great experience onboard, including some decent rest.
Saver fares in F are no longer offered and as you are discovering, Advantage fares are getting rare. They only seem to operate on some days of the week.question for the experts, I have a heap of miles expiring March 2026, looking for a quick get away from Melbourne in F (J as a backup) to use the miles as quick as possible
I assumed there might be availability to Singapore or Korea, for solo traveller, in Saver
but looks like none even in Advantage,
does anyone have any recommendations of destination/dates?
I didnt know that!Saver fares in F are no longer offered and as you are discovering, Advantage fares are getting rare. They only seem to operate on some days of the week.
Officially they still exist, you just never see them and they aren’t even there if you look in the day they are released. Saver in J is also only available on some days of the week ex MEL.I didnt know that!
so theyre permanently discontinued or rare as hens teeth?
is it recommened to go J or Advantage
appreciate the expertise
appreciate the comments, looks like ill be looking harder with more flexibility!Officially they still exist, you just never see them and they aren’t even there if you look in the day they are released. Saver in J is also only available on some days of the week ex MEL.

As a data point no change in saver and advantage availability with pps . Very easy to find at least a couple of seats across most dates especially when looking out further. I've written about my previous experiences with multiple seats being available and this hasn't changed since recent changes to program. So I'd say they are available but probably only for status pax
I have some points expiring in Feb,This post indicates that unless you have PPS/Solitaire, you won't have access to F saver awards to/from MEL/SYD

Which routes can you actually redeem First Class Saver awards? - The MileLion
First Class Saver awards can be notoriously difficult to find, but redemptions aren't impossible- even without elite status!milelion.com
PPS is a status obtained only by spending money on J and F seats. Star Gold probably doesn’t open up availability.I have some points expiring in Feb,
Is PPS a level or two above gold?
If I signed up for the CC that gives star alliance gold, and chose SIA, does it open up any extra award availability?
I want to do a last hurrah in F or Suites
ThanksPPS is a status obtained only by spending money on J and F seats. Star Gold probably doesn’t open up availability.
If you want a last hurrah in F, look at the shorter routes - e.g. HKG-CGK.
