So I've taken a plunge, burned all my KF points booking SIN-AKL in suites late January when the A380 goes back into this route.

Departing at 2235 and a near 10 hour flight ought to allow for plenty of lounge time, and a great experience onboard, including some decent rest.

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing (but on the shorter SIN-SYD route, and my points will be converted from Velocity). I'll need to make a decision by this weekend (and hope that the date I'm looking at is still available).

question for the experts, I have a heap of miles expiring March 2026, looking for a quick get away from Melbourne in F (J as a backup) to use the miles as quick as possible

I assumed there might be availability to Singapore or Korea, for solo traveller, in Saver

Saver fares in F are no longer offered and as you are discovering, Advantage fares are getting rare. They only seem to operate on some days of the week.

Officially they still exist, you just never see them and they aren’t even there if you look in the day they are released. Saver in J is also only available on some days of the week ex MEL.

really want to do F in Saver, destination very flexible, definitely a first world problem

As a data point no change in saver and advantage availability with pps . Very easy to find at least a couple of seats across most dates especially when looking out further. If I signed up for the CC that gives star alliance gold, and chose SIA, does it open up any extra award availability?

is this a recent thing? i redeemd F about 18 months ago to europe and travelled 1 way about 12 months ago, during my searches I remember, MEL to SIN both ways was surprisingly available 1 month in advance, and the odd one was avail to europe

I think I have had 5 waitlisted F clear this year, all to/from SYD/MEL, I am a KrisFlyer nothing, but a heavy velocity user
