The Emirates First Experience - What to Expect?

I mean to have a first growth Bordeaux onboard is just next level
Yeah. They've changed my DXB-SEA flight on 1 October to have Dom rose, Angelus 2006 and Opus One 2016. Good wines all but no Mouton Rothschild (was looking forward to trying one - hopefully I'll be able to scrounge one in the lounge).

Meanwhile, the wines on my SYD-DXB flight on 30 September remain (comparatively) pedestrian - Pontet Canet and Two Hands Ares are the picks. Both fine, but not totally OTT like you see on flights out of DXB to Europe and the US.

I just got off the overnight LHR-DXB and was lucky enough to have a couple of glasses of a very nice burgundy. Was surprised to see what it sells for back home!

EK F have stunning wines. Worth the price of travelling in F.

EK have invested something like US$1 billion in wines since 2006 with 6+ million bottles in the storage cellar. Unlike QF which seems to have invested about A$10.

Wow, hope that gets added to my flight (in about a month, different route) - not showing on the list as of now.

I agree, Qantas Wine both in F and J are pretty terrible. Was it always this bad especially in F?

Yes. Occasionally they had Penfolds RWT and extremely rarely Grange in lounge, but IMHO they cater for the yellow vested and rewards so that's the level of food and wine they aim for. Marginally above J but not much. Very poor value for F food, wine and service.
