Would it be rude of me to perhaps suggest making this thread pertinent to all travel health concerns?

We would like to do some activities in the UAE next January which may bring us into close contact with camels, so this Smart Traveller, travel warning about Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) has me a little concerned.

What's the general consensus? Discussion in this thread or a new thread?

Would it be ok if you rode the camel, just don't kiss it or look longingly into its eyes and let it breath all over you etc??? :)

World Health Organisation to decide whether to declare Ebola an international crisis.

The World Health Organisation began a two-day emergency meeting on West Africa's Ebola epidemic, with the UN agency deciding whether to declare it an international crisis.
The closed-door session is tasked with ruling whether the outbreak constitutes what is known in WHO-speak as a "public health emergency of international concern".
The meeting comes as Nigeria reported its second death and Saudi Arabia said a man who had visited Sierra Leone and had returned with Ebola symptoms died at a hospital in Jeddah.
