The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Well I think per capita that’s not exactly true.

In order
Tas
ACT
NT
Vic
WA (closest to AUS average)
Qld
NSW
SA

But I agree with the sentiment that Qld leadership today gave more confirmation for those in Qld that were already hesitant

Wow NSW fell behind QLD. My bad.

Well watch that change.

So wait, you actually are ok with the decision being made to allow people to make their own choice (with medical consultation) but you just don’t want anyone to be told about that choice by promoting it’s existence? 😂 How do you propose they find out?

You go to the hub - go to the small unmarked green door to the right, knock three times and shout "Astrazenica". But don't tell anyone!

So, if Qld doesn't want vaccine, can it be redirected to those that do.....

Speaking to my son the other day, who works in the gaming industry, and is really good at maths.... He's 34, and will take any vaccine he can get.

Got it, let me put it on Tik Tok right now for all the under 40’s who want a choice 😂. Oh wait sorry can’t tell people about it.

No wonder, explains why they're running out of Pfizer - they're giving them out like candy.

Obviously no forward planning.

Ill be unsurprised if QLD shudders to a vaccination halt after that debacle.

But keep in mind that thankfully the QLD CHO has zero control over the GP network up here so they will do as they please and let me tell you a lot of medical professionals up here selectively listen to the CHO, for many reasons, which is part of the reason they are being moved on - it’s been a work in progress for years.

You saw our leaders this morning right? And after that you expect them to be able to count past their fingers too :)

Like I said it’s a giant hot mess up here on all fronts. That’s why they went nuclear in the press conference. Deflect, distract, attack.

Nobody has raised the risks that may occur with Pfizer/Moderna - still being determined by the manufacturers (you'll remember it took a long time for the AZ link to be proven).

Some are saying for males under 30, the Pfizer risk is greater than AZ.

We've got to stop this zero risk mentality. We didn't do it for anything else, yet we seem to be doing it for everything Covid related. It's nuts.

Agree - none of them are perfect, all have risk.

I don’t approve of the gaming industry, but your son should have no problems finding a a GP with AZ supply.

It’s possible that once demand drops for Pfizer from 40-59 that supply opens up to 60-69 or 35-39. Those in early 30s could be waiting months for Pfizer.

I think there could be a decent chance that getting vaccinated with AZ now will lead to full vaccination before it would happen with Pfizer.

What do you have against Xbox and Playstation?

Well in Singapore, guess what there is a fair bit of fear of the Pfizer vaccine! (+Moderna)

Mainly because of concern around long term effects of the new mRNA technology. Such that a some (particularly older folk) are favouring older technology vaccines - such as SinoVac, as long term effects associated with older technologies are (supposedly) well known. They queue up and pay our of their own pockets tp get their jab from private providers (Moderna and Pfizer are free). Now some of this is no doubt due to chinese language propaganda probably coming from the CCP themselves, but shows it doesn't take much to demonise these things and spread fear. Ministry of Health are resolute in their defense of mRNA vaccines though.

This is the comparison between the vaccines for CVT (see: BMJ Article):

Based on this data, there is not really any statisical or scientific basis for choosing Pfizer or Moderna over AZ.

Unbelievable… so just caught a snip of the useless Queensland CMO saying she doesn’t want an 18 year old dying from a clot when they wouldn’t die of COVID, basically saying that COVID presents no risk to younger people. In that case, why would anybody get the vaccine! What a motivator for young queenslanders!

Honestly couldn’t make this stuff up.

Ah but the prevention and treatment of TTS has been improved remarkably - so the risk is going down - vs the risk of covid, which like it or not, is going up.

You don't need treatment for TTS is if you don't get it the first place. Not taking AZ = no chance of TTS, taking AZ 3-5 in 100k chance of getting TTS and then a 3% chance of dying if you do get TTS.

From what I've read treatments for Covid have also improved , not that most younger people who get Covid need any treatment at all.

I'm not seeing any evidence of worsening health outcomes from contracting Covid for under 50s in Australia?

The number of people in hospital and ICU with Covid this June in Australia year is not more than last year June.

Delta may be more transmissible, but it isnt proving more dangerous so far here and certainly not for younger people.

So please explain how my Covid risk has increased? Id argue it has decreased due to some people being vaccinated.
