DT MEL I can confirm full breakfast is free for Diamonds. Had a couple of recent stays.

Never been charged for breakfast at HSW however a couple of weeks back they advised everyone has to pay for barista coffee. Sadly HSW is coming to an end in my experience they really looked after diamond members.

It was $10 extra at Hilton BNE for gold last October. Totally agree Swanning_it, add $5 for (an ordinary) coffee, meant we went elsewhere the next day for not much more!

Hilton BNE this week still has $10 extra for gold, complimentary for diamond.

Well, DT-CNS have taken this one step further. I guess it's due to them being a big tour group hotel. The bottle shop also mentioned to me that if I was part of a group, I wouldn't be allowed to book to my room, however the breakie voucher really means they've now removed that other unwritten perk of multiple breakfasts included. It also means that I should actually book for two, even when I know it's just me ... just in case my better half decides on the spur of the moment, to have a night in CNS with me, as she occasionally does.

You don't need to book for 2. Keep it as one and just tell them it's 2 on checkin. The diamond benefits of brekky and HH of 2nd guest free both apply regardless.

Hi there,

what is the current situation for Golds at SYD Hilton?

Can I still go to glass as I used to as a Diamond?

Thanks!

Not per my last experience there in Jan. They wanted to charge me a 'reduced' breakfast fee of $27 each given I was gold. Lounge breakfast was offered instead if I didn't want to pay the 'reduced' fee. Pretty odd in my view as a gold doesn't automatically have lounge access as its dependent upon their received room ... presumably its open season on lounge access at breakfast time.

Hilton Taupo has charged it for years.

DT-CNS didn't charge it either. It's a brand new few for all to enjoy!
Taupo charged it from from when they opened. Point to note that the current GM at DT Melb was the manager on opening at Taupo.

Cairns did not charge it last time I was there.

Feedback as of last week, Golds that get upgraded to a room with exec benefits have free breakfast in the lounge. Otherwise it's free continental breakfast at glass, upgrade to a full breakfast was listed at $20 pP.

You're in for a treat next stay ... not!

Quick update on CNS.

DT still seem to have the little slip of paper with "continental" and "number of people" on it, however Hilton did not on my last visit (unlike the previous visit), so hopefully Hilton has woken up as to how miserable that concept is.

On a stay at CNS Hilton last week I was given the slip of paper but with the cooked breakfast circled so it was included for me as a diamond. But I prefer the relative tranquility of the Lounge anyway and only went to the Restaurant once in a 7 night stay. We are back shortly so will see if the same applies.

As I started this thread, I'd best update it. Recently (past month) DT-CNS and H-CNS have offered me full breakfast (for 3 even, but with the coffee tax), so I was pretty happy with that (looked like teething issues had been bedded down to allow at least diamonds a full breakie). Last stay at DT-CNS was rubbish as far as the breakfast was concerned. Their coffee machine has broken (not surprising at the amount of use it received) and they've decided not to replace it, so pay the tax or have the muck, and the breakie upgrade fee was back, oh and they changed the breakie times without advising the guests.

I was reasonably happy with sharing my stays in CNS between Hilton and Double Tree, but I'm a bit over the tour group mentality of DT. Time for a change I think. Might have to be ... HI to see if they've improved.

Best £4 breakfast in London I think :D

That's good to know, we are staying at the Conrad before Christmas and plan on filling up with breakfast for the days activities. £4 to get it delivered seems reasonable, do you know if that is that per room or person/breakfast ?

I think it’s per tray so should only be $4 for one room.

Hilton Brisbane. As a gold, $10 to upgrade to full breakfast. $5 coffee tax.
For Diamonds, full breakfast in restaurant downstairs is free :) Not sure about the coffee tax as I didn't order one :)
