I was thinking now HKG-NRT-DFW-LAX-SEA-MCO :)

As a quick aside - I know I can add Oz domestic trips to teh end of my DONE4 - but could I do the same ifI had a fligth originating in the US like this:

jfk-ord-jfk-lax-syd-mel-syd-hkg-lhr-jfk-ord-jfk

With the ORD return trips being sya two weeks before and two weeks after the Sydney trips?

I am not really sure what you are meaning here??? Do you mean you would purchase a DONE4 in the USA commencing in JFK?

Please also note that the only flights JFK-ORD are American Eagle flights on Embraer 145 jets as single class services, so not really something I would doing for the sake of it. AA do operate MD80s on LGA-ORD and EWR-ORD routes.

Sorry - one of my bosses i is on secondment here form New York and I am suggesting that she book DONE4 tix for her return trips from NY to SYD and slotting in the extra trips to our other offices in Chicago (and other cities but Chicago is main) .

Re the JFK - I meant NYC as I realise that LGA-ORD is the better opton.

In that case she can maximise the 6 North American sectors, but the limitation will be the two stopover limit in the continent of origin. Those stopovers can be either side of the international departure, so can do the extr trips before or after the trans-Pacific flight.

Another option to consider is HKG-YVR-DFW-MCO - arriving into MCO at 00:20 (not sure how US immigration is in YVR).

Similarly HKG-SFO-DFW-MCO would have you arriving into MCO on the same flight, and I have to believe (though don't know) that immigration at SFO is easier than at LAX.

At least with both of the above you have NA A sectors, and no long layovers.

YVR-DFW will be 2-class as business and coach, so will book into D and not A.

NOt much availability on the HKG-SFO flight sadly D0 I think. I think its a bitlater now to play with it too much and now that some plans have changed on the NY conference (its now 100miles north east) I might cancel my ORD visit and spend the day in NYC :)

Hmm - having spoken to the US TA I have now been informed that deleting the JFK-ORD-JFK flight will cost US$125 and will require a ticket reissue (ticket is paper) was advised that the easiest way would be to make the change at LAX as I have nine hours there and wont need paper tix being couriered to me or issued by CX here in Oz...

I thought that changes were unlimited but have read the -onex rules I dont think they are for changes to destinations:

Hmm - not sure if I am originating in Area 1 or 2 or 3....

A rerouting will always require a reissue.

IATA zone 1 = Americas, 2 = Europe Middle East and Africa, 3 = Asia and Southwest Pacific

So I need to tell my TA that as I am in Zone 3 - I get changes without charge but will need ticket re-issued - they suggested CX in Sydney.

That is one of the advantages of keeping ticketing and reservations separate (as espoused by christep over at FT) - and usually ticketing with open segments rather than dated segments. I have had such tickets with open segments where I have decided not to use some coupons, and simply tore them out and turned up for the next sequential segment. They key ofcourse is that since there is no reservation with all sequential segments in one PNR, and you're thus not in danger of "no showing" and having the rest of the reservation cancelled. But ofcourse it depends if your particular circumstances allow you to have ticketed open segments and make reservations separately.

Currently in LAX - waiting for ticket to be reissued. the good news is that I have again scored F lounge access - but this was due to the AC AAngel who is working on my ticket :)

I dont think 7 hours in the AC would be as much fun - mind you I need tobe careful of the open bar...

Trip reports being drafted already :)

Grrr - the BA lounge at BGI is landside - I should check these lounges on my itineraries a little better

I can confirm excellent free wireless internet in the departure lounge though :D
