Why does the Australian Way magazine still show transit map of Bangkok Don Muang months after moving to Suvarnabhumi?

Maybe they forgot to update that section. And often things are fairly slow to get updated in the reference section IME. Perhaps you could drop QF a note to remind them.

Head doesn't know what tail is doing ;)
Easily forgotten i would imagine, and i could also imagine that the magazine production is outsourced as well, i actually enjoy reading it, much better than any of the competetions inflight magazine offerings imho.

Then again they could just be being pre-emptive :D

Perhaps they are waiting to see if the new BKK remains operational before changing the magazine :p .

Just like you I was looking for the layout of Suvarnabhumi in the Australian Way magazine on the last trip and noticed that Don Muang was still there.

Maybe QF knows something we don't. ;)

I've noticed the seasonal flights tend not to get added.

While on the subject of The Australian Way errors, in the same issue there is a thing where 1 million points is enough for 14 trans-tasman return trips in business class. Even if you manage to get fairly direct routings it is only enough for 13. And also says the first 707 will again have VH-EBA rego - are they shifting the rego of the existing a/c to make that happen?

Or could be they are waiting for the lounge to be ready so they only have to update it once. Could be a looong wait then.

Hmmm. 1,000,000 / 72,000 = 13.8888888888...

Well, you almost make it back :)

ANd with EBA - perhaps. It's just about to convert to JQ livery, so maybe it will get a new rego at the same time!

For a second I wondered if QF was giving a discount to the winner of the points, but naah can't be.

What I want to know from the Qantas Inflight magazine is why it lists the mileages between cities differently on the international page to the domestic page. MEL-SYD is 2 Km different for example iirc

If you check the other domestic runs on the international page, there definately seems to be inexplicable discrepencies

Tectonic activity stretches the distance while in the air on international flights and shrinks it while on domestic.

To justify fuel surcharges, flights will be deemed to be longer internationally than domestically.

The extra km represents taxiing to and from holding bay while waiting for gate to become free.

QF added the distance the bus travels between int & dom for all those domestic pax who parked/are being picked up from the wrong terminal.

Tectonic activity may be the case. Back in the days of 1 FF point per Km I used to get 707 for a one way SYD/MEL trip and 1414 for the return.

They probably use a different ruler when measuring the international distances. Or perhaps they use string, which has to be waterproof for over-the-ocean measurements.
