Thai Airways: Delays/ Cancellations

Monday 16 January 2017 has TG461, the 0810 hours from BKK down to MEL that was airborne at 0944 arriving at around 2227 hours, 67 minutes behind schedule. B772ER HS-TJU has the task.

Tuesday 17 January sees TG471, the timetabled 2045 hours mid evening SYD arrival (B744 HS-TGY) from BKK an expected 37 minutes late.

TG461, the 0810 hours BKK - MEL (B772ER HS-TJS) should arrive 44 minutes late at 2104 this evening.

The BKK - SYD overnighter TG475 should arrive on Wednesday 18 January at about 0820, 70 minutes behind schedule with B744 HS-TGG. TG476 is then timetabled to depart SYD at 1000 sharp back to BKK, so expect it to be perhaps 20 minutes tardy in pushing back.

TG472 (1610 hours SYD - BKK on Friday 17 February, B744 HS-TGP) was delayed by the severe storms in Sydney and hence looked to be about to take off at around the 1724 hours mark.

Tuesday 28 February sees TG471 (the 0725 hours relatively early morning BKK - SYD that was in the sky at a delayed 0846, B744 HS-TGO) arriving at a predicted 2130 tonight, 45 minutes tardy.

Sunday 19 March 2017 sees the often dead on time or early TG465 unusually almost an hour late with arrival in MEL ex BKK suggested as 1355 this afternoon, 50 minutes tardy. Aircraft is B772 HS-TJD.

Holders of Australian passports had to queue excessively during the early morning of Monday 22 May 2017 due to inoperable Border Force software.

This led to delays for international departures, with TG476, the 1000 hours SYD - BKK (B744 HS-TGF) not becoming airborne until 1119. Arrival should be at 1743, 83 minutes late.

Tuesday 23 May has TG477, the 090 hours nicely timed BKK down to BNE not having become airborne until 1055, about 90 minutes late. B788 HS-TQF should arrive at its designated BNE airport gate at around 2229 hours, 99 minutes late.

The just after midnight departing (at this time of year) TG465 from BKK to MEL has a very good timekeeping record, but on Thursday 25 May, B773ER HS-TKW is likely to arrive at about 1407 hours, 122 minutes late. The scheduled 1515 hours TG466 from MEL back to BKK should be delayed by about 20 minutes.

TG477, the Tuesday 11 July 0900 hours from BKK down to BNE that took off at 1034 (B788 HS-TQC) should arrive at 2145 hours, 55 minutes late. As the returning TG477 does not depart until 2340 hours, it should be punctual.

Wednesday 26 July sees TG473, the 0001 hours BKK down to BNE that was in the sky at 0119 with B788 HS-TQB likely to arrive at 1247, 57 late. TG is usually punctual into and out of Oz.

TG461 is normally punctual into MEL but on Friday 11 August, not helped by entering a holding pattern above Bendigo, it is suggested as arriving half an hour late at 2030 hours mid evening. Aircraft that has originated in BKK is B772ER HS-TJS.

Saturday 12 August has TG461 (B773ER HS-TKX, the 0810 hours largely daylight flight from BKK to MEL that took off at 0906 hours) suggested as arriving at around 2034, 34 minutes late.

TG465, the 0015 hours BKK - MEL is almost always punctual but on Sunday 24 September, take off was at 0202 so arrival of B773ER HS-TKO should be at 1309, 64 minutes tardy.

TG465 is rarely delayed twice in any seven day period but Saturday 30 September is an exception with this BKK - MEL flight likely to arrive at 1401 hours, 116 late with B773ER HS-TKM.

On Saturday 21 October, B744 HS-TGA (1920 hours Friday 20 BKK - SYD that took off at 2027) should arrive 32 minutes behind schedule at 0852.

On Tuesday 31 October TG462 from MEL to BKK, the timetabled just after midnight - 0030 hours - departure has been delayed until about 0830 hours in its departure. B772 HS-TJT had operated TG461 that arrived MEL at about 2115 last night (Monday 30), five minutes early.

This sort of expected eight hour delay must be problematical for passengers, as it is insufficient to get a good night's sleep even if the airline provides an hotel when one considers the amount of time it would take to organise rooms, use buses if the rooms are not at Melbourne Airport, check in and then subsequently be asked to be outside to be picked up by a bus three and a half hours prior to 0830.

Information from passengers as to whether they spent the night at MEL or in an hotel would be great.

TG475 from BKK to SYD (of which the arrival on Wednesday 8 November is B744 HS-TGY for the third consecutive day) has a good timekeeping record. However today it is coming in to its allocated gate at about 0920 hours, 130 minutes late. This will delay TG476, the scheduled 1000 hours SYD departure back up to BKK by at least 55 minutes.

UPDATE: This arrival is touching down at 0936, having been further delayed by other inbounds. The departure back to BKK will be correspondingly later.
