You should have booked it at the time of booking the ticket, any change to your ticket will require a re-issue now, and a re-issue will recalculate the taxes owed, in which case you are going to be paying $800+ per ticket to add it.

if you've never paid for any tickets why start now

I see . So i cant ring and add a stopover in japan then ? Thats a shame. I brought the tickets because someone rang me and told me its a early bird special and i was planning on using LM's anyway to a place where i didnt want to be go it seemed like a good idea. Time to look for those free hotels and free cars ;)

Just call TG and ask them to change your $800 mistake fare to Europe to now route via Japan and have a stopover there. I'm sure they'll bend over backwards to do it.

Regarding your hotels and cars please start another FT thread about it - this is one of the best threads I have ever read on FT: Brussels , Amsterdam , U.K , France Italy and others - FlyerTalk Forums

I cant resist biting on this post. So the fare is Australia to Europe. Flying Thai. Normal assumption is it would be on Thai metal and route through Bangkok.
A stopover in Japan would mean flying AUS-BKK-Japan-BKK- Europe. Wonder what the word for this would be in Thai! ;)

I read the first page or so and then jumped to the end. How did he manage to get a Jag for $200?

Congrat to those who managed to book this one, what a ripper of a deal !

It was a jolly good read.

Oh goodness yes, some choice quotes just from page 1!

"DRIVE to Amsterdam? DRIVE to London? DRIVE to Paris?"

"Also consider that in the UK the OP (apparently from Sydney) will be on the "right" side of the road but on the "wrong" side of the car."

"Trains can move your luggage for you. Yes, you have to arrange it and pay for it, but you don't need to move it yourself. Also, it is a bit surprising hearing you complain about the cost of a taxi or bus after you will probably end up spending close to €1000 on an auto, plus stayed at one of the most expensive hotels in Amsterdam."

"Costs wise I will probably drive from Amsterdam to london thru the tunnel if its free."
