Terminal 3 Silverkris Business Lounge (not *G lounge)

Hardly anyone around late evening
I really couldn't agree with that, as when I've been there late evening it's been a like a live export ship on steroi_s, with flights departing to Aus and other far flung paces worldwide. But YMMV. Are we talking about the same place?

Looking at context of departures from T3 you can see why it's busy, and the recent move of JP/KR flights to T2 probably makes a little difference but not that much.

23:30-23:59 6 (it was 8)
00:00-00:29 5 (it was 6)
00:30-00:59 3
01:00-01:59 5 (it was 8)

Agree, it'll make a difference, but it won't be a magic bullet to solve it (which is why I suspect there might be a couple more moves to come)
every bit extra helps I guess.

Looking at if from a difference perspective, more departures from T2 naturally means more arriving aircraft at T2, meaning more people are in T2 by default.
T2's lounges will pick up a % of passengers in the lounges even if their final destination isn't KR/JP, purely from the fact their first leg aircraft has arrived in T2.

I doubt it would make any difference, those experienced enough with access to the Business lounge would likely stay in T3 until the last possible moment rather than use the one in T2.

I know I do, often eschewing the lounge at T2 completely.

(Same for the *G lounges)

That is 6 less flights and 40+ less people per flight so approx 200-300 people less

I think though the problems is largely with the Silverkris lounge, not so much the *G lounge (in fact a couple of people have suggested easier to get a shower in the *G lounge).

Are we talking about the same place?

Possibly not. JohnK seems to be talking about the Krisflyer Gold lounge, are you talking about that or the SilverKris Lounge (which is for business class and passengers with PPS status travelling in economy/premium economy)?

The OP appears to refer to the Business Lounge (at the time *G, VA elites etc. could use it as the *G lounge was being renovated.)

I have modified the title ..

Apologies. I'm obviously talking about the wrong place. Confused again as SilverKris is the business lounge in SIN but is the general lounge in all other airports.

OT, but I would guess this comment applies to T3 as well. T2 F lounge as full as I have ever seen it at 0630 today. Barrista and chefs very busy. Not surprising, given it's the start of Chinese New Year week.

Historically T2 lounges were always busy first thing in the morning. Lots of flights full of locals travelling to SE Asia for business purposes. In my previous company (before 2018) I regularly travelled out of T2 in the early mornings and always very busy.

9pm to 11pm is the worst, just prior to the long-haul Europe flights :(

Midnight to 6am is lovely!
Totally agree for 2400-0600. However it be a different kind of zoo (snoring nocturnal animals on display in their natural habitat). Can't complain about the accessibility of free drinks during the bathroom breaks doe.

I'm travelling MEL-SIN-MXP on the late evening flight out of SIN on J. Only 2 hr transit.

Which lounge should family of 4 head for?

(Travelling early next year though).

Do many people sleep there overnight ie from midnight to 6am?
Well what did you see from 2400 to 0600 or am I hallucinating?👻👻👻
Though I don't have the balls to do it just be working on my laptop but then nature eventually wins and I end up falling alseep sitting upright or face on desk. I used to imagine spending a night in the butterfly gardens or the Jewel or whatever else there is at Changi would be a fun experience but this is definitely up a notch

Apologies, it was merely a question as I haven't been there during those hours. I usually stay at the CP hotel.

SIN-MXP will likely depart from T3.
MEL-SIN will also likely land at T3, but there is a chance it could land at T2 (depends on where that aircraft is headed next - but MEL usually receives long haul aircraft A350/777s so usually more T3 focussed)

Still need to allow time to clear security before your SIN-MXP flight, I'd say avoid the hassle and use the T3 lounge.

Given your short transit time, the only way I'd consider using T2 lounges is if you landed at T2, and then went immediately to the lounge before making your way across to T3.
