I realise that the standard advice is to talk to your accountant but wondered what people felt about whether travel extras could be considered tax deductible

The things that came to mind would be things like paid loyalty programmes (eg IC Ambassador), travel research subscriptions (eg EF, KVS) , paid lounge access (eg Admirals Club passes).

If so, does it make a difference if you are a road warrior or someone who just does a few flights on business a year?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Interesting question and surprised it hasn't been answered as a few on AFF travel back and forth regularly.

Paying their taxes on or before time is clearly the main priority for AFFers:)

I have always considered expenditure in relation work related travel, including 'travel extras' such as seat selection, additional baggage, pre-ordered meal costs etc., to be as tax deductible as the base fare itself.

Always claimed with no issues.
