So looking at using a credit card pass to get into the qantas domestic lounge, myself and a baby (1). Does qantas let you in with a baby as i saw somewhere you cant bring children on these passes?? Expecting a 1 year old to pay entry (or use a pass) seems rather harsh when its no like they will eat anything ;)

My friends had no issues with their 11 month old twins recently using passes I gave them. But YMMV

I don't think there's an issue with the smallest people, was in the Car lounge the other day with a small family in there. Kids were doing a little running around but they were cool, enjoying an adventure etc. But they may have been with a parent full member. Also may depend on the exact terms of the card. Not sure if they're all the same. I'd look on my c/card website first and wants second, even though Qantas will have final say. At least gives you some ammunition if needed, given the prevalence of free passes out these days.

If they said no I think it would be maybe more to do with the day - a crowded lounge due to flight delays etc etc. And some lounges like Sydney and now Mlb always seem to be busy these days. Remembering that a REALLY crowded lounge can even see them turning members away.

I think technically you're right (no access without a pass) but in practice they seem to apply the Qantas Club policy even if it doesn't actually apply:

Lounge typeChild ageNumber of children
Qantas owned and operated lounge0 to 3 years
4 to 17 years
18 years +
Complimentary access
Complimentary access for up to 2 children
Adult guest

I've never had a problem the few times I've needed to use a domestic or international lounge on a pass, so you should be fine, but just keep in mind they are entitled to say no if that's the answer you get.

The saying here has often been, "if they don't let you take a child into the lounge, leave the child at the entrance".
