I am surprised that it was only business class passengers enraged.

I was always under the impression that economy passengers are much better behaved than premium class passengers and this proves it. ;)

FROM "The Australian"
Passenger Alice Henry said: "They said they'd put us in the transit lounge with some food and some drinks, but when we got there it was one person with some styrofoam cups and teabags.
"At this stage, my husband and some other people said, 'that's enough', and we've got some other people together and come up to the Qantas Club and said, 'We don't really give a stuff whether we belong to the Qantas Club or not, we're all coming in and demanding some answers'."

So it would appear that the "revolt" was by Y pax who had no access the the QC/business lounge anyway. Any J pax would have already been in the QC. I can't imagine QF saying, "Yep all of you 300 people come on in"

As always it could have been handled better by the airline, but it could also have been handled worse by the airline, long delays are never easy to manage or communicate.

Very poor form from the pax who were abusive towards the Qantas staff.

Kick them off the plane and make them swim, walk, paddle or fly another carrier to Singapore.

I agree, some peoples behaviour still freaks me out when I fly...

I have seen a person SPIT on a Virgin check in staff and on QF a person (on board) threw a beer can back when they said they didn't carry his particular favourite brew!
