Hi.
Anyone know what the transit process is for SYD international?

Do i need to do a two week quarantine in SYD?

If not, is there a limit on how long i can stay in the airport?

I’m looking to book travel from POM-SYD-DXB.

If you are not through-checked (or if you are through checked and you can't stay airside or the layover is >8 hrs), you will need to apply for an exemption and be taken to quarantine hotel.

All flights on 1 ticket? Far better if booked 1 ticket/PNR
If booked as 2 separate tickets gets far more complicated.
If 2 tickets is not a "transit", but 1 flight ending at SYD and another starting at SYD
QR are also flying from BNE.
Where to after DOH, as my understanding is Qatar is not accepting visitors?
Probably need to do a pre flight PCR test.
If going land side NSW regulations kick in

The flights are actually syd-dxb.
POM to SYD is one ticket, SYD to DXB is another (but i will have my luggage checked through all the way from POM).

The thing is, i’m in sydney for just five minutes under 8 hours. (Arrive from POM at 1350, leave for dxb at 21.45).

But, i dont want to leave the terminal.

will i be able to stay airside?

how is the 8 hour rule monitored/enforced?

Airline: Air Niugini & EK or ?
Are you 110% sure bags will be interlined on separate tickets? Not all airlines interline.
Have you checked you can get the SYD-DXB boarding pass airside? Very likely you will not be able to get it in POM.
As far the POM-SYD airline is concerned your destination is Australia and they will check you have authority to enter Australia.

I hold AUS and UK.

I have a travel exemption, but that will expire if I leave airside. I *may* be able to get another one, but i'd rather not.

POM have assured me my bags can be through-checked.

I belive POM can print out my tickets, but I will double check.
