With it warming up, it may not necessarily be the right time of year for it .. but hey, there's nothing quite like some good pub grub in an old London pub, part owned by Gandalf and having been a place where Dickens was a regular customer.

Where? The Grapes, Limehouse
Time? Sunday 15/6, 12:00 midday
Who?

Confirmed:
Flashback
Mrs Flashback
Mal
cove
cove+1
Myrna
Mryna+1
erkpod

Any other takers?

Looks like it'll be quite the feast! We'll get there as early as possible to grab some tables, so will see you all once you arrive.

Which way is better to walk from the DLR? From Westferry or Limehouse?

Sunday lunch in London should be lovely. Sorry I don't know the answer erkpod because we live in London part time.
Getting together with AFFers in London will be good fun.

Wont be there for a few months but the menu looks good so am thinking I'll give it a go. Will be staying in Greenwich so could be a good place for dinner on the way back to my hotel.

I'll go Westferry then.

That's what I'll be doing for sure.

Looks like my usual station is closed due to the London-Brighton bike ride, so we'll be hitting the station at the other end of town. Funnily enough it actually seems to drop the total travel time for us so that's a win.

Heading off shortly too. Mrs Flashback decided she wasn't going to come after all, but then I reminded her that some good friends were wanting to see her ; so hopefully we'll be on our way soon.

Sunday Morning - have a great time

Erkpod, flashback and myself are here now.

Seating is very tight (the place is packed) but we will work something out.

There are two things on the menu...
Beef roast.
Pork roast

Thank you everyone for a nice afternoon. It was a nice way to meet up with more AFFers & see a different part of London.

AFFers come in different shapes, sizes and preferences and that is why we like to get together in that relentless quest for the best flights to suit our individual needs.
We had BA,VA,QF,SQ (and mixtures of each) fans. There is no one answer as we are all so different.
With Flashback, Mal and Myrna all living in London you see the need for knowing how to grab some days off to go exploring.
When you live in England there is so much you can get to in say 3 hours flying so that is so different from living in Perth.
Chocolates from Hotel Chocolat are really very nice.
It was really good to get together today.
