Suites savers now available

I have just got off the phone with Krisflyer after making a mixed class booking Suites/J. The first leg is available, but the second is on waitlist. Because of this they told me I have to ring back by the 18[SUP]th[/SUP] to check if there are seats available on the second flight, and if not change the booking or it will lapse.
There is an alternate which is currently available, but not as convenient.
I thought I could have one booking on waitlist and a backup which is confirmed.
Am I missing something?

The way SQ handles waitlisted redemptions has changed. Basically, any 'confirmed' sector that is not ticketed will drop off the booking after (4) days.

If you have the miles you can ticket and pay your available itin and then cancel if your preferred itin comes through. Other than that, you have to keep calling every couple of days for a new booking.

I'm travelling to Melbourne for the GP on 13th March. My itinerary is BKK-SIN on SQ977 at 1540 in J and SIN-MEL on SQ227 at 2115 in a suite. PM me if anyone here is going to be on these flights it would be great to catch up for a drink in the lounge.

Not the lounge kohen - TPR - The Private Room my friend - Suite occupancy = auto guarantee TPR entry - I am sure you will love it

Also when you check-in BKK try to get TPR invitation with your name on it - they used to hand them out to all Suites pax but not so much now - it's just a great little personal souvenir.

Is this the ULTIMATE First World Dilemma or what?

I need to be NKG (Nanjing China) nt Mar 9 - 2 alternatives:

CX134 J MEL-HKG 08:45-15:10 / CX6850(KA) J HKG-NKG 18:55-21:20 - 70K AMs - this gets me 3hrs in QF F lounge MEL and 3hrs F Lounge HKG with 1 change.

OR

SQ218 F MEL-SIN 01:05-05:45 / SQ856 Suite SIN-HKG 09:30-13:30 - 64K KFpts then CX6850(KA) J HKG-NKG 18:55-21:20 - 25K AMs - this gets me 2hrs in SKLF MEL then 3hrs TPR SIN then 4 to 5 hrs F Lounge Hong Kong with 2 change.

What to do?

Could be lonely in the TPR at 6am

Well Cruiser,I have been thinking about heading off from Perth to Melbourne or Sydney to pick up a full SQ Suites run to London or Los Angeles. These ideas are true first world issues. Nothing like a long cut when you are posting in AFF.

How do you get access to the MEL QF F lounge if you don't have status and are only flying J?

Or are you one of those "special" people?

What to do?
My dilemma has been solved - crisis averted - decision making process has been assumed by a higher authority - Cruiserette can't understand my procrastinations - apparently the decision is simple and straight forward - I now understand I will be doing the following:
1. Taking the CX option on CX134
2. Booking best available room at Parkroyal MEL on Sat nt Mar 8
3. Driving to MEL late afternoon then enjoying pre-dinner drinks of finest champagne on offer in bar at PR
4. Enjoying dinner at restaurant at PR washed down by another bottle finest champagne on offer
5. After dinner enjoying nice romantic chic-flic in room
5. Rising at 5am to get to CX check-in at 05:45
6. Not disturbing Cruiserette as she snoozes to whatever time she chooses before heading home.

See - how easy was that? I hardly had to think at all!

Sitting in TPR having a glass of VGD awaiting my first suites experience. It's taken 79 pages of this thread but finally I'm joining the club. I feel like the cat that got the cream!

cheers Danger UXB

Is VGD = Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame?

Yes it is and very nice too!

Awesome! Not that common for a vintage prestige cuvee to be served in a lounge.. the only thing I can think of that comes close is LPGS in the BA LHR T5 CCR.
Not too sure about the LH FCT in FRA or TG's BKK F lounge. I know QF, AA, EK, CX and JL don't have them in their flagship lounges...
I digress - should probably put this in the champagne thread!

Oooh - wonder if that's new, don't remember seeing it last time I was in TPR.

On a semi-relevant (to this thread) note, I'm flying MEL-xSIN-xICN-SFO this coming weekend, all on 77Ws. You know you're well past spoiled when you're disappointed to "only" be flying SQ F!
