Suggestions for "book the cook"?

Try the caviar with the scrambled egg breakfast if that is something you don't do at home. It adds a favour that is heavenly.

Two of my favourite BTC meals - Lamb Shank Curry which is really very good, and Beef Rendang which is exceptional and comes complete with Ikan Bilis on the side. The rendang is so good that the cabin attendants tell me they hope passengers change their minds once on board and go for the standard menu.

Man, I wish I had multiple compartments in my stomach (like a cow).

Lobster ?
Ryo Kaiseki ?
Caviar ?

Now, lamb shanks and beef rendang !

I am on SQ metal, LH codeshare ex Singapore in J in early February. I'm an Air Canada Aeroplan member (*A Gold)

Looks like to BtC you need to log in to SQ 'Manage my Trip' needing a SQ booking reference (fail) or ticket # starting with 618 (fail). Horrors!

Other option is to enter Kris Flyer #. This is do-able I guess.

Does anyone know if I can BtC with my existing LH codeshare details, without joining KrisFlyer? (I've nothing against Krisflyer, but it would be wasted point earn, as I'll be sticking with Air Canada Aeroplan for most of my *A travel).

Cheers

You can join Krisflyer to get access to BTC and still use your Air Canada Aeroplan when you book in for your flight. Hang on.....as you are booked on another airline (codeshare) I do not think you will have access to the flight details on the SIA site.

Wow! I didn't even know this kind of service ever existed. Will be travelling SYD > SIN > HKG on J, this means I could actually order my flight meals pre departure. Have learnt so much from this site about flying in the past month. Thanks australianfrequentflyer.

Is this the Lamb shank curry available on SIn BTC menu "Designed by Singapore Airlines International Culinary Panel Chef Sanjeev Kapoor"
or
"Indian lamb shank curry with vegetables and pilaff rice" available out of SYD and MEL
or are they one in the same ? Anyone know as I am keen to give it a go in a couple of weeks.

Just had the Matt Moran seared lamb loin with some Medoc . Very Nice indeed :)

I'll try to put the pics up

The former. I wouldn't know if the they are different as only ever order it out of Sydney. The FA did ask me me near the end of the flight if I had enjoyed the meal and did not find it too spicy. When I told her it was particularly good she mentioned that her SFA had told her the order must have been a mistake because the passenger was a westerner. lol. These dishes are the best airline food I have ever eaten. I hope you enjoy it too.

Quick report with photos to follow later

The BTC Ryo Kaiseki was a disappointment.

Bland in taste, that's the key issue here.

Could not finish it; Had to cancel the Kaiseki breakfast.

Authentic presentation (10/10) but food favors were missing: food aplenty but favors were not there.

I am a Japanese food lovers and had had multiple Kaiseki dinners in Japan itself - in case you ask.

In short, I do not recommend this choice.

As promised, here are the photos of the BTC Ryo Kaiseki meals

While the foods looked lovely and fresh, they were - on this occasion - quite bland and I could not even finish it.

I cancelled the Kaiseki breakfast and just went with the "standard" Suite menu instead.

In contrast, the Wagyu Sirloin BTC option was quite delicious and it is highly recommended (sorry, no photo)
