I do not take responsibility if the above video gets imprinted into your brain.

Tragically enough, I am well aware of this clip.

What with the recent "snake on a plane" incident, it sort of ties in to that too.

Lets just hope common sense prevails and this 2nd 'airport' is never built.
What's needed is to lift the curfew totally, or at very least change the hours to 12:30am - 5am.
I can't believe in this day and age and in a a modern big city like Sydney we still have a curfew!
If digits were allowed it could be 711 based on the curfew hours.

Most of my suggestions are existing airport codes. So how about?

GBI - Greater Bogan International

Partly agree with you about curfew times. Perhaps a revision is in order.

Another solution is to get rid of all light non-commercial aircraft away from Mascot which would free up many more slots.

Why are there more Bogans at Badgerys than anywhere else? Say, for example, where you live?

How about NEY? So you can fly into SYD, and fly out at NEY.

Sydney will never get a more reasonable curfew regime. It anything, it will become more restrictive. Politicians don't care, as they aren't economically affected by it. The lack of rational extensions following weather delays is just one of the issues with the curfew.

And, on the other hand, there will be no second airport in any reasonable time frame. Infrastructure planning in this country consists of writing a report, and then shelving it, to be dealt with by a future (i.e. not me) government. This sort of thinking will continue to drive the country into the backwaters of third world existence.

Perhaps the alternative is to acquiesce to one of the inevitabilities which is that another airport in Australia will have to serve as a major hub for new international traffic, with domestic connections to SYD as necessary. Or, even easier, one of the other cities other than SYD will have a chance to shine as a commercial hub of Australia.

I'm sure the NSW commerce entities will be in a tizzy about all the lost revenue due to this lack of infrastructure, though to be completely honest that would also be like the pot calling the kettle black.

But... this topic isn't about this argument - probably the mods might move this to a "new" thread (i.e. not like we haven't had this argument before ad nauseum).
