Successful QF 'Bid Now Upgrades' data thread

I get offers for pretty much every flight (mostly fly peak times SYD-MEL) but never represents a compelling valuation. Particularly because I mostly fly on flex fares so 5,000 points for a classic upgrade vs 3,000 points plus ($50-$200) for a bid now upgrade. Not very good value.

Received my first bid now upgrade offer, BNE - TSV (Red e-Deal), thought I'd give it a go and put in the minimum bid of 3,000 points and $160.00, bid was accepted.

Flying QF172 MEL-WEL on Monday and just got a bid now email request. Minimum is 4000 points plus $140. Might put a minimum bid in and see if I get anything

I'd be tempted if you got the higher status credits (points could still be on original fare).

Well, I have been offered a chance to bid on my upcoming ADL-BNE trip, however, the bid page doesn't seem to be operating for me - no scale at all in my 3 browsers available: Safari, Chrome or Firefox.

So currently, I can't put a bid in even if I want to.

Received my first offer.
MCY-SYD.minumum bid 5000 + $85.
for no priority checkin, virtually never priority boarding,no lounge.
pass.

Looks like it was a glitch at their end. Working for me now. (Though I can't actually see the point. On the two (domestic) offers I've received the minimum bid compared very unfavourably to a plain old classic upgrade request)

Im flying PER-SYD-DFW Monday and received an offer to bid for PER-SYD and have bid the minimum. I have not received an offer for SYD-DFW. Any reason why they wouldn't offer it for the international leg? The flight is definitely not near full as I can book 9 business class seats at a time without a problem. I Have an N class ticket.

9 seats in business class doesn't mean there are actually 9 seats available. The airline may be willing to oversell - particularly if you want to buy full fare tickets. If they don't sell those seats they can be used for pax who have requested upgrades - silvers aren't processed till like 24 hours or so.

Just noticed that a Bid Now upgrade I had in August posted as a classic award with no points or status credits. I have lodged a claim but it might be worth checking your activity statement

I had one in August, same problem. Seemed to take ages to solve

Put in the minimum bid for SYD-MEL ($115, 3000pts) early last week. Rejected. When I boarded Economy was about 70% full on its way to near 100%, but the Business Class section had two pax, ten spare seats. Interesting.

4,000 pts $90
Successful

After being unsuccessful previously bidding minimum I increased minimum points by 1,000 and dollars by $10. Didn't actually expect to get it.

Not travelling but organised the booking for 2 people xx_-DFW-SYD rtn through QF. My email in booking. One person travelling is AAdvantage member no status, other person has no FF# in booking.

Received email from qantas offering upgrade bids for straight cash for just the DFW-SYD-DFW sectors (obviously not the AA sectors). With the consent of the passengers i have put in bids of $US1,200 each passenger for just the DFW-SYD. The minimum bid was $US780. I will report back on success.
