Strike by customs & immigration workforce ½ day - 1 July

The Australian Border Force faces a tough first day on the job on Wednesday with much of the new agency's workforce planning to show up for work two hours late.
Customs and Immigration public servants, whose departments formally merge on Wednesday, are planning half-day strike action as part of their ongoing pay dispute with the Abbott government.

Disruption is expected at airports around the country with Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin all to be affected.

I would be pi$$ed off if I was travelling internationally tomorrow (travelling ex Syd on Thursday am)

Hi there!

Anyone with any experience of these kinds of strikes got any advice to share?! We are flying out tomorrow at 11:45am from Melbourne Tullamarine. I figure we need to arrive really early to get through, probably 7am, otherwise we'll be queuing for two hours or more?

Sitting in SYD QF F Lounge. Took about 10 minutes to get from transfer bus to lounge with express pass.
