I got hard rejected in Feb as I applied over a VPN, which led to them treating the whole thing as identity fraud !

Depends on what card. It isn’t all about score and greater than 12 months history is helpful. What other cards and credit limits do you have?

I'd like the CSP (particularly with current SUB). Currently have Amex Green, Amex Hilton Honors ($1k limit), C1 Venture (for good credit) $2k

I also made the mistake of uploading my C1 statement as proof of address - I learnt here that I should have used my HSBC checking account statement.

I received a hard copy letter from Chase a few weeks later patting themselves on the back for blocking identity theft, and offering links to support services to help avoid future identity theft...

P2 was also in the same boat with his first Chase card. For the first app, everything looked fine with 6+ years of history, but Chase still denied him, saying there wasn’t enough history. He had 2 Amex charge cards, which was probably the issue (no limit showing), plus multiple AU cards from my account which Chase might not take into account.

Before the second app, P2 added Aspire (10k) and Venture (30k). After uploading the docs, they said either go to a branch for identity verification or apply again.

P2 will be out of 5/24 next month and will try again, but after adding Citi AA and Surpass, Chase will probably say too many accounts. That’s why I think it just comes down to luck with them.

It’s combined limits across all cards. Weird though maybe things have changed? Amex gave me $10K–$20K on my first few cards too. How much income did you use? I started at around $50K–$60K 10 years ago, and now I’m at about $90K. Tried $120K for P2, and Cap1 gave a whopping $30K lol.

Nope. both of us have never been asked.

heard in the past that Chase liked to see 5k limit with other banks for CSP and possibly 10k for CSR.

This is because that’s the minimum limit for each card.

I applied for CSR with 1 year history. Amex Gold (no limit given charge), HSBC Premier ($12.5k limit) and Amex Aspire ($3.8k limit).

Ended up getting the CSR approved with $20k

$97.5k and didn’t provide any proof. I’ve always put between $90-100k for income.
