Strategy to obtain US Amex

Interesting. I use Roamless when I travel for data. As a new service they are offering subscription numbers (real numbers). Presently, they are only offering 3 numbers, Aussie, UK & Canadian

I use TextNow for US Amex verification codes. In the interests of keeping things simple & consolidating, does anyone know if US Amex treats Canadian numbers the same given that they are both +1. ie, could I change to a Canadian number & still receive verification codes?

(No offence to either country intended😉 - question not intended to be as ignorant as it may sound)
Do you need q phone to receive Amex verification ? I have always received them by email only .

They usually have the option IME.
Need is probably a strong word, but it is convenient. And occasionally, for verification, if you phone them (which i have done in the past) they call you back on your registered (US) number to check its you; they’re then happy to revert to the number you called them on

But yes, ….. convenience, is the primary objective

I received 3 starting with an 8 as I mentioned .
According to google. IRS has started issuing 8 as ITIN due to running out of 9 numbers.

Anyways I will prefer to have a starting 8 ITIN. Alot of sites that rejects ITINs such as BofA. Accepts ITINs starting with 8 as it thinks it's an SSN.

Not sure why you are complaining about it being an 8. If they think it's a SSN, just let them think that way. It's to your benefit.
