Strategy to obtain US Amex

Do you have an Australian Amex Platinum? The point we’re making is that you are not transferring from Australian Amex Platinum. You transfer your Australian Amex MRs to a US MR account once a year (you’ll need a US MR card to do this). You then get the benefit of 1:1 via Amex to AC, SQ, CX and others.

Then a Chase card might help you with United availability. Although I’m not an expert on that so I’m sure someone else will have a better idea on how that arrangement works.

Personally C1 and Citi just don’t seem worth the shutdown risk, especially for anyone who doesn’t have large amounts of US income, doesn’t have a US ID and has an ITIN instead of a SSN.
Never had major or any problems with Citi after the card was a few weeks Old .

Haven't been able to get an Aussie Amex for a year with their "churn" rules.

QUESTION: why don't you just spent on the US Plat Amex vs having to do the transfer? Better earn rate in Australia and it mitigates the FX transfer?

I've vibe coded a points transfer application so I'll put all this into see if it helps me visualise the return!

Better earn rate in Australia. But make sure you take into account any multipliers you have on your cards. While the AU Plat outearns the US Plat on non-bonused spend, the AU Plat is inferior to the 3x/4x multipliers on many US cards in many categories.
